New Life

Happy Monday morning to you. Hope you had a Blessed Easter weekend. My card for today is my DT card for the Kaboodle Doodles challenge "New Life". I chose to express this theme by featuring a litter of kittens & flowers, both signs of Spring, which in itself is new life. The image is by Meljen's Designs. The papers, flowers & ribbon are from my stash. I used a scalloped punch & Spellbinder die to cut out the shapes. Sentiment is a digital freebie. Hope you will take the time to create a project expressing this theme & then share it with us at Kaboodle Doodles. We love to see your work & maybe you will win this week's prize, which is a voucher to Digital Delights.

I am actually having an Easter Egg Hunt with my grandkids today since they were away for the weekend visiting their other greandparents. It's kind of fun to spread the festivities out a bit so they can really enjoy each event rather than try to cram everything into one day. I know they are really looking forward to the hunt.  Hopefully I'll get some good pictures for scrapbooking.
Until next time,
Nancy

Good Friday Card

Hope you are all having a wonderful day. Ours will be busy with a family get together & church service. Just wanted to post this card since today is a very precious day to me. The verse is from the book of Romans 9:8. I pray that you will take some time today to reflect on what this day is really all about.

Thinking of You

Good afternoon. Hope you are having a wonderful day. My card  for today features an image by Saturated Canary. Isn't she adorable with her cute little bunny. I have just fallen in love with these sweet images. They are so fun & easy to colour up with my Copics. The 3 DP's I used are by MME. I even used one of them to make the rolled flower by adhering it gold coloured cardstock & then sending it thru my Grand Caliber with a Spellbinder die. I also used SB dies to cut out the image, it's matting, the leaves & flourishes. Sentiment is a rubber stamp. The cute little brad is also MME. I added a bit of real stitching to bring it all together.
Here is another angle:

Well, that's it for today.
Praying you will have a Blessed Easter Weekend. Hope you get to church.
hugs,
Nancy

Spring

Over at "Mo's Digital Pencil Too" the challenge is "Photo Inspired", & this is my take on it. The digital image is of course one of Mo's delightful creations. I coloured her with Copic Markers. As I'm typing this I realised that I didn't use any Dp, just cardstock, some of which I folder embossed. I used several punches & Spellbinder dies to add a bit of character to my card. The flowers, bows, brads & paperclip center are all from my stash.
Hope your mid week is going well.
Nancy

Happy Birthday

Hope you are having a fanastic Tuesday. This is has been a very exciting week for me! First, at our school there was Crop (I couldn't attend because I was working), anyway, one of the venders was selling her Tim Holtz's distress inks for $2 each! Well, needless to say I bought a few, actually quite a few, lol. Also, my husband & I enjoyed celebrating our 26th anniversary by going out for supper Saturday night & then for breakfast on Monday ( the actual day of our anniversary). I love, love, love going out for breakfast...it just seems to make the whole day go better.
Then, I found out that I won a mystery prize at the up coming Scrapfest in Kitchener, Ontario. I won't know what it is until I get there, oh the suspense!!! Finally, last night I discovered that 2 of my cards had won in 2 different challenges. At Meljen's Designs ( http://meljensdesignsdt.blogspot.ca/2012/04/winners-challenge-102-no-color.html) I won 2 digitals of my choice. At Prickley Pear ( http://www.prickleypearrubberstamps.blogspot.ca/2012/04/sketch-challenge-winner.html ) I won a $15 gift certificate to their store! Now, if that isn't exciting I don't know what is! I do hope you enter challenges not only to win a prize, but to share your beautiful work  & give inspiration to others.
Anyway, all that said let's get on to my card for today. (Sorry my scan turned out a bit dark in the one corner). This sweet image is by Melissa Jenkins at Meljen's Design's. Isn't he a cutie! I coloured him up with my Copic markers. My Dp s are by My Mind's Eye. The sentiment is computer generated. Added some folder embossing to the background papers, lots of stitching & a few random buttons.
Whew, that was a mouthful, hope I did ramble on to long.
hugs & blessings,
Nancy

Spring Easel Card

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend. Ours was busy but nice. My card for today is my Kaboodle Doodles' DT card. Our challenge this week is "Anything But A Rectangle". Sure hope you'll join in on the fun. Our sponsor  is the "Stamping Boutique" & you could be the winner of 3 of their great images. For my card I decided on an oval Easel Card. I cut the base using my Creative Memories cutting system & the large oval template. I then cut the different layers of the card using the different sizes of the templates. The Stamping Boutique image was fun to colour up with my Copics. I cut the flourishes, leaves & flowers using an assortment of Spellbinder dies in my Grand Caliber.  The Dps are by MME. Some of the flower layers I also folder embossed, just to add a bit of texture to the card. The brads in the center of the flowers & ribbon are from my leftover stash. The scripture sentiment is by Stampin'up. I added some faux stitching & used foam dots to attach the flowers. I love ease cards & am quite pleased with how this turned out. Here is a close up of the flowers.

Thanks for stopping by. Hope your day includes something to smile about.
hugs,
Nancy
