Working with Textures

Time for another fun challenge over at Meljen's Designs. For this week's challenge we would like to see some texture on you r project. Here is my card...

I used the word image "Thinking Of You" by Meljen's Designs, printed on a piece of pretty DP. I folder embossed it and ran my ink pad over the embossed area to add more dimension. I used a bunch of different flowers and flower centers, die cut and embossed leaves, as well as some pretty lace, gross grain ribbon and a couple of stacked buttons. I even added a metal brad heart! Lots of texture there!
I hope I've inspired you to hunt thru your craft supplies and see what you can come up with to add some texture to your project.
Until next time.
hugs,
Nancy

A Little Walk down Memory Lane...

I thought today it might be fun to take a little walk down Memory Lane; back in time a couple of years ago when I had the awesome privilege to be the June 2012 Guest Designer for Meljen's Designs. I was absolutely thrilled to be asked and even more thrilled when Melissa and Dee asked me to join the Meljen's Design Team full time! I can honestly say that I love being on this team and never tire of working with Melissa's adorable images.
Here are a few photos of the cards I made back in June of 2012...
See what I mean about Melissa's cute images - who could ever tire of working with them! They are so fun! And just to "toot my own horn", the card featuring "Tea Cup Mouse" was published in Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine!
Well, thank you for letting me reminisce a bit and I hope this has been an encouragement to you to keep entering our challenges and our Guest Designer calls over at Meljen's Designs; you never know, your turn could be right around the corner.

hugs,
Nancy

Sew Perfect

Good morning! It's time for a new challenge over at  Meljen's Designs and this week we would love to see "Stitching", faux or real, on your project! (and a Meljen's image of course!).
*-don't forget that Melissa has been giving away a freebie every weekend!-*

For my card I worked with MD image "Sewing Machine" and I used faux stitching

I printed the image twice, once on beige card stock and then on a plaid DP. I cut out the "fabric" part of the image and paper pieced it to the original image. I also ink coloured two wooden stars and a wooden heart and attached them in the proper places. I used a pretty print DP for my background and cut a fancy border with a Tim Holtz's die. Several buttons, a stamped sentiment and lots of faux stitching helped to finish this card up.
So there you have it. I hope to see your project linked up for the Meljen's challenge right here.

hugs,
Nancy
