Hi!

I love having time off work...I get so much relaxing time to work on cards! And they always turn out better when I'm not rushed!
Today I have a card which I made to meet a host of challenges. Saturated Canary is looking for "Summer Fruits" and I just happened to have saved this "Cherry DP" scrap...I didn't even have to cut out the center 'cuz it was already done from a former project, love it! Little Red Wagon is looking for "Red & White" themed projects. Actually the ladies over at Inspired By are as well. The Divas over at Diva By Design want to see "Pearls" so I added lots of them. DRS Designs are looking for things that start with the "Letter B", and I think "blonde" hair, "brown" eyes and a "bow" will let this card qualify. The team over at Crafty Ribbons wants to see "anything as long as it has a ribbon", so again this pretty red ribbon bow should work. Crafting For All Seasons wants it to be "girly "and with all the pretty die cuts, gems, pearls , glitter not to mention the adorable Saturated Canary image, this card is definitely "girly"!
Cut It Up is looking for projects that celebrate "Canada Day" so I'm hoping this red and white theme will qualify.
So here it is.

A Charming Project

Good morning to you. Hope you are looking forward to a great day! Today there is a new challenge up at Meljen's Designs and we would love to see a "Charm" on your project. There are so many cute charms out there that this will be an easy challenge for you. For my project I chose to work with Melissa's image "Fancy Little Teapot", which I coloured with Copics. I used a lot of different dies, some from Spellbinders and others from Memory Box.  I found this cute little Teapot Charm, {and a few others that I'll share with you in future projects}, at Scrapfest. The bow was fashioned from ribbon I've had forever! The sentiment is just computer generated.
Well, I hope you will check out what the rest of the DTs came up with and join us over at Meljen's Designs with your "Charming Project". Until later.
hugs,
Nancy

***hello...***

Good evening. I was able to finish this card up this afternoon and thought I'd share it with you. I just got this sweet Tiddly Inks image "Celebrate Joyfully" and was so anxious to get it coloured up. Another great thing about this card is that I was able to use up some super old embellishments: 3 little lady bugs and more of my scrap paper! The polka dot DP is by MME. I used Copic markers to colour the images with. I did lots outlining with a black, ultra fine tipped, Sharpie marker. I used  Spellbinder dies to cut out the 3 little banners along the side, the rick rack trim and the flower's leaves. The flower[ a Michael's purchase] is centered with a bright yellow button tied with floss. I hand wrote the sentiment. This card sketch is the one from this week's challenge at Sketch and Stash and the colour combo is for the challenge at  *ABC Challenges.
 Thanks for stopping by.
hugs,
Nancy

School's Out! Yeah!

Hope you are enjoying your day...I am! School is out and as a School Janitor that means I get a bit of a break! {Before we start the really hard work of getting the school back in shape for September, but we are not going to focus on that part right now!}.
Anyway, I always post a picture of my grandkids on my door at work. My grandkids go to the same school where I work and they love seeing their picture up in the hall as they head off to the library, computer room or Worship Center. So today I thought I'd share the layout with you.

This came together nice and easy. I used up lots of little bits of product that I've had for awhile,{ie the flowers, gems, self adhesive title and papers}. Love being able to do that. The hardest part is getting these guys to pose for pictures! Some how bunny ears suddenly appear above someone's head or tongues and ears get stuck out!  Bet you'd never guess that by looking at their "angelic faces", lol.
Trusting you will have a great summer, filled with all you love.
hugs,
Nancy

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day! Hope all the dads, {step dads, grandpas, etc...} enjoy a wonderful day.
Over at Just Imagine Crafts it happens to be "Reveal Sunday" and it just seemed natural to have "Father's Day" as our theme. Here is the card I made for my dad & father in law. {Yes, I made them both the same! Neither one will know {hehehe} and I find "Guy Cards" hard to do, so when I came up with this layout, and liked it, I decided to make 2!} It's the thought that counts and besides their gifts are different and that's the important part, right!?!.

The card base is 6"x6". The DPs are all by 7 Gypsies, {Venice Collections from the Journey}. The sentiment is a freebie digital by Paula. I used Kreaxions punch #914 to create the fancy border along the bottom and Kreaxions Circle cutter to cut the circles. The word "Dad" was cut from chipboard, with the DP adhered, using my Sizzix. I distress inked the word Dad & hand cut arrow. Added a bit of "faux stitching" around the arrow, circle & center strip.
Well, there you have it! Please take a few minutes to check out what the Just Imagine DT's and the rest of the GDTs have come up with.
Remember to spoil that special guy in your life.
hugs,
Nancy

Time for a Fun New Challenge!

Hey, so glad you stopped by so I could let you know about the new "World's Greatest Dad Challenge" starting today over at Meljen's Designs. We would just love it if you would play along by making a paper craft project for your Dad, Grandpa, etc and entering it the challenge! Just think, you could be this week's winner a get some of Melissa's images for free! Now how nice is that!
Anyway, here is what I came up with.

I worked with the fun image"Big Burger" and since it is topped with all these deliciously colourful burger fixings I was able to use up a whole lot of my scrap bits of DP! LOVE IT!!! I simply hand wrote the sentiment and added some "faux stitching" and ink distressing and voila...finished!
Thank you for your many kind comments and I'm looking forward to seeing your project in the challenge.
hugs,
Nancy

It's June and that means "Graduation Time!"

Good morning! Today over at Meljen's Designs is my day to add a little Inspiration to your papercrafting world so I'd like to share with you a Graduation card I made. This year my littlest grandson, Zach, is graduating from Senior Kindergarten and boy is he ever excited about it! So to help hime celebrate this milestone I thought a cute little gift card work do just the trick.

I decided on this cute Meljen's digital image "Professor Owl".  I coloured him with Copics and added lots of distressing by inking all of the edges. I cut both ends of this flap card with a circle Spellbinder Die to make them rounded. I also cut out the image with an oval Spellbinder Die. I folder embossed the entire background of the card with a Swiss Dot folder. The DP is a little bit I leftover, I think it is by MME. The sentiment is computer generated and then cut out with a Creative Memories circle punch.

Inside I created a little pocket where I'll be inserting a coupon for "Ice Cream with Grandma & Grandpa"! Zach will love it! So there you have it! If you are looking for some super cute "School Related" images I really encourage you to check out all of the great images Melissa has over at Meljen's Designs...she even has a lot of cute freebies!
Blessings on your day.
hugs,
Nancy
