It Will Be All Right.

Hope you enjoyed your day. I had to work so I'm tired but I accomplished a lot at work so that makes me feel good. I even made time during my lunch to work on my card and was able to finish it up when I got home tonight. The image "Bronte Kisses" is by Mo Manning.  You can find it right here in her shop. The address is: http://www.mosdigitalpencil.com/categories/Animals/
I used Copics to colour the image. The DP is by MME. I used Spellbinder Dies to cut out the leaves, flowers & computer generated sentiment. I added some pretty ribbon, brads (for the flower centers) and lots of real stitching.

Well, that's it for tonight.
Wishing you all sweet dreams.

Birthday Wishes

Well, it's Monday and that means it's time for a new challenge over at Kaboodle Doodles. This week we would like to see "Birthday Cards". If you're like me you can never have enough of these. Everytime I turn around someone I know is having a birthday! Good thing I love making them.
My card  feaures a modge podge of leftover DPs, but I think they work well together. The image is another sweetie by The Doodle Garden. Simply added a stamped sentiment and a few buttons to finish off this card.
I am sorry to say that this is my last card as a Design Team Member at Kaboodle Doodles. It was a hard decision for me to make, but sometimes our plates just get too full and something has to go. I am going to miss the KD team...they are a wonderful, friendly and greatly talented group of ladies. Thank you so much for having me on the team. Hugs and blessings to each one of you.
And to the rest of you a big hug too.
Until next time.

Black & White with Pink

A quick post tonight. Those sneaky deadlines just keep me hoppin'.
This card features one of the sweet images by Saturated Canary. I colured her with my Copics in shades of black & white, with a little pink to add interest. The Dp's are real oldies and I can't remember who they are by. I added a bit of pink to a few of the squares on the one dp. The sentiment is a clear stamp, but it didn't stamp as dark as I wanted it to, so I went over it with  black ink & a white paint pen. Buttons, gem & glittery ribbon are from my stash. Added a bit of "faux stitching" to finish it off.
I think I'm going to keep this for my Granddaughter's birthday...she'll love it!

Thanks for stopping by to take a peek.
Wishing you sweet dreams,
Nancy

Rainy Day Savings

Here it is Thursday, time for a new challenge over at Meljen's Designs. This week the theme is "Anything Goes"! So get those creative juices flowing, let your imagination run wild and remember to share your project with us by uploading it at Meljen's Designs.   Just go right here...   http://meljensdesignsdt.blogspot.ca/
For my project I decided to make something other than a card. I came across this cute gift bag idea at Splitcoaster Stampers and knew I just had to give it a try. So get ready for a sort of slide show, 'cuz I took a few pictures.
Back View
I folder embossed the base of the bag (front & back). I die cut the scalloped circles and placed them around the holes I had punched to make  the handle. The layered flowers and leaves were cut using  Spellbinder Dies. I added pearls for the flower centers. The Dp is MME.

Insides
There are 2 decorated pockets (one on the front the other on the back). Great places to insert a monetary gift or gift cards, etc,

Side View
To close the bag up I simply brought up the front & back portions & tied a pretty ribbon through the punched holes.

Front View
Here is my project from the front. I used Melissa's cute image "Piggy Bank". It's one of her new releases this month and you can find it here:

Well, thanks for sticking with me through this long post.
Blessings on your day.
hugs,
Nancy

A Little Bird Told Me

Good Monday morning to you. This week over at Kaboodle Doodles we would like to see "What's In" on your papercraft project. Now "what's in" covers a lot of territory, so show us what you think is in. Remember you could win a great prize from one of our sponsors.
I think "Winged Things" seem to be popular so I decided to use this sweet image by The Doodle Garden on my card. I also think "Fabric Tags" are in so I used one of those also. My DPs are MME. The layered flower & brad are from Michael's. The stick pin was a gift from my sweet daughter, thanks Jazz!
Looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

hugs & blessings on your day,
Nancy

Hugs & Sunshine Kisses

Hope your weekend is off to a wonderful start. Ours is very busy so I just have a quick post to share with you today. This card features one of Mo Manning's adorable images. I coloured her with my Copic markers. (I love my Copics, so much so that I have been having to buy the refill cartridges for quite a few of them. They seem to be all running out at the same time. Refilling is a bit tricky - I tend to put in a little too much ink, which has caused an unexpected blob & ruined some of the images I've been colouring. Very frustrating, but I know it's my fault).
Anyway back to this card. The DPs are MME. I distressed all the edges with Tim Hotlz Distress Ink. The sentiment "Love Always" is actually ribbon that had the words already stamped onto it. I simply cut it & was able to use it twice on this card. Since this card layout has so many layers I decided not to use embellishments,(only some glitter on the tutu), so the focus would remain on the image and pretty papers.
Thanks for taking time out of your busy day to come by and visit.
hugs,
Nancy

Lavender and Lace

Hope you are doing well on this rainy, overcast day, at least that's what it's like here in SW Onatario. But I'm not complaining! My flowers needed a good long drink and a bit of cloud cover to relive them.
My card today features a wonderful free image by Saturated Canary. Isn't she pretty! I used some folder embossing on the background DP and the cardstock mats. Lots of corner punching: simple rounded and a little fancier one with 3 hearts. Die cut leaves with hand rolled flowers. Added gem stones to flower centers and in the bottom corner. I used a bit of flat lace on the 2 purple mats.
Well that's it for today. Off to have dinner with friends.

Hope you'll stop back tomorrow for a special treat.

Thank you for all the wonderful comments.
hugs,
Nancy

Singing & Dancing

Good Wednesday Morning to you. Just a quick post so that I could enter this card in a few challenges. I coloured up this image ages ago with my pencil crayons, back before I got my Copic markers. The DPs are by MME.I simply added a tied ribbon and a layered flower with a button center. Sorry about the poor scan of this card, the flower was a bit thicker than I thought.
Off to go shopping with my hubby.
Until later,
Nancy

My Hobbies

Hope you had a wonderful weekend. We certainly did. We enjoyed a leisurly drive in the surrounding countryside visiting Munro Honey Farm Market, Walnut Grove Daylily and Hosta Farm and shopped a bit at the Art in the Park in Petrolia. A truly wonderful day.
My card today feaures the things I love to do: flower gardening, bird watching & scrapbooking and at Kaboodle Doodles, this week, that's what we would like to see in your project... "Hobbies, Sports or Outdoorsy things". Easy peasy! This theme covers a whole host of options so there's no excuse not to play along with us!
My papers are by MME. I added a bit of ribbon, a few charms & some pearls as accents. My image is by Dearie Dolls. (It was a freebie - isn't she adorable!). I used Copics to colur her with.
Well, that's it for today. I really do hope you will play along 'cuz I love seeing your work.

hugs & blessings,

Birthday Wishes Rainbow

Well, Good Morning! Hope you are lookng forward to a wonderful day. Since it's Thursday that means it's time for a new challenge over at Meljen's Designs. This week our theme is "Birthday". I love this theme because I never seem to have enough birthday cards on hand. For my card I used one of Melissa's new images "Sweet Little Rainbow". You can get it or any of her adorable images right here in her shop: http://shop.meljensdesigns.com/
I used Copics to colour the image. The DPs are MME. Added a few colourful brads. The sentiment is computer generated. Looking at my card right now I think I'll add a bit of bling to it by putting some glitter on the rainbow.
So, that's it for me today. Looking forward to checking out your projects for this challenge.

Thank you for all of your kind comments.
hugs & blessings,
Nancy

Hi!

Hope you're enjoying this lovely summer day. Our flower gardens are a rainbow of colour right now so we are really enjoying being at home for our vacation.
My card today features this sweet image by the Doodle Garden. It is called "Darci Dragonfly" and she reminds me of my gardens. The DPs are scraps from my leftover box. All the embellishments are little bits of leftovers as well.
So that's it for today.
Going out to enjoy the flowers.

Nancy

Merci, Merci, Merci!

Good Monday morning to you all. Hope you had a fun-filled weekend, so much so that you still have a smile to share with those you meet.
Monday means a new challenge over at Kaboodle Doodles and this week the theme is "Anything French". I don't know why but I found this a tough one! The first thing that popped into my mind was a French Poodle, so that's what I went with. I found this image on line, sorry can't remember the source. For some reason, when I think of French Poodles I think "Pink" so I coloured her a very pretty shade of pink with my Copics. The black & white just seemed a natural way to go. I used only cardstock with lots of folder embossing. The sentiment is computer generated. A bit of polka dot ribbon & an altered charm to finish this project up.
So, now it's your turn! Our sponsor this week is Meljen's Designs and you could be the lucky winner of a few of their adorable images. So off you go to get busy papercrafting.

hugs,
Nancy

Good By Card

Hope you are enjoying a lovely Sunday afternoon. It is warm & sunny with a nice breeze here in SW ON. Perfect for a leisurely walk to Timmies for a delicious Ice Cap, (made with choclate milk of course!). Those things are so addictive!
My card today was made for our Pastor & his wife. Today was their last day at our church...a bitter sweet occasion. Happy for them to be moving back to where their children & grandchild live, but sad for us here to lose them. We will surely miss them both. To send them on their way we had a little get together after the morning service with a delicious cake. We were all invited to bring a farewell card and this is what I came up with. The DPs I used are an assortment from MME. I used different Spellbinder dies to cut out the layered flowers, leaves and scripture verse. The scripture is computer generated. Simply added a few brads for the flower centers & a small bow.
That's all for now. See you tomorrow with a card for the new challenge over at Kaboodle Doodles.

hugs,

Gift Tag

Just a quick little post to show you a tag I made featuring another one of the images I won from "The Doodle Garden". This one is called "Darci Dragonfly" and I fell in love with her the minute I saw her. Easy to colour up with my Copic markers and such a delight to work with, this tag came together in a jiffy. The flowers are paper & resin. Other embellies include a shiny star stick pin, feather, lace, fuzzy metallic fibre thread, die cut leaves & a doily.  The Dp covering a store bought tag is from my scrap box.

Just want to say  a big "Thank You" for all of your lovely comments & for becoming followers of my blog.

Hope you enjoy your evening.

Happy Birthday - Red, White & Blue

Happy Independence Day to all my American family and friends. Hope you have a safe, fun-filled day of celebration.
My card today features one of the adorable images I won from "The Doodle Garden". You can see all of Jen's images here:
I have always loved the Red, White & Blue colour combo and this little Sailor suited that combination perfectly. I decided to make this a flip card when I saw a tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers for it. The inside sentiment has been rubber stamped and says "Happy Birthday". The star was cut from chip board using a Sizzix die & coated with a thick layer of gold glitter glue. I used a double thickness of foam squares to make it pop up enough to catch the front flap of the card. The Dps are a "modge podge" from assorted companies that seemed to work well together.Several different sized buttons help to finish this card up.
Well, since it is extremely hot here in SW Ontario, my hubby & I are going to just chill out at home - he on the computer; me papercrafting.

hugs,
Nancy

New Release and Some Exciting News

Well, if you've been following my blog at all you will know that I just finished up my month at Meljen's Designs as a Guest Designer. I am so excited to announce that Melissa and her fanastic team have asked me to join them permamently and I have graciously (with lots of hoops & hollering...no one will believe you if repeat this because they all know how shy & quiet I am), accepted. Honestly, I am so excited about this, I only hope I can do justice to Melissa's sweet images.
So, to start things off we are giving you a sneak preview of Melissa's new images for July. There are 11 of them and I know you are going to love each and everyone of them...I know I do. For my card I used 2 of the images: "Summer Sun" and "Swim Time Mouse". Copics were used to colour both images. My DPs are all MME. I also used some designer scissors, a corner punch, a few gems, faux stitching, adhesive dimensionals and some glitter on this card. Sentiment is computer generated. Hope you'll take the time to check out Melissa's new images which will be for sale in the shop on the 6th of July.

Have a great day.

A Boy's Life

Happy Monday to you all. If you are a fellow Canadian, I hope you are enjoying your long weekend in honour of Canada Day. To my American friends, I hope you are looking forward to your 4th of July celebrations, later this week.
Since it is Monday that means it is time for a new challenge over at Kaboodle Doodles. This week our fanastic sponsor is The Stamping Boutique. They are offering 3 of their great digital images to one lucky person...I hope it's you!
For our KD challenge we would like your projects to depict "A Boy's Life". Since my husband is proof that there is a little boy in every man ( which I happen to think is a very good & fun thing), I decided to use Mo Manning's fisherman image. My Dps are an assortment from my extremely overflowing box of scraps. Kept this card fairly simple, just adding some real stitching and a few brads.
Looking forward to seeing your projects.
hugs,
Nancy
