Happy Halloween!

Well, tonight's the night that my grandkiddies just love. Yes they are addicted to sugar and tonight they will score enough to keep them hyper for quite some time. lol They also love the dressing up part - almost as much as the candy!  I hope the weather cooperates for all of the little "Trick or Treaters", right now it is drizzling and windy, maybe it will clear a bit tonight.
Since I am a School Janitor I will be working tonight, so there will be no trick or treating at my house. Instead I make up Treat Bags for the neighbourhood kids and deliver them to their houses before I head off to work. This year I got these great Plaid Treat Bags at Michael's. They are brown & orange so you could use them for Thanksgiving Day as well! I found these wonderful Treat Bag Toppers free on line at  AnythingbutPerfect.com . I know that there are a lot of great bag toppers out there but I really liked these because they didn't use a lot of ink to print. They also printed 2 to a 81/2 x 11 sheet of cardstock.

So here is what is in store for the kiddies I know. I even got a few special treats for the Fur Babies in our family; Sassy ( a cute little Westie) and the latest addition to our family, Hunter (a sweet little tabby kitten).
I leave you with a couple of photos from a past Halloween and wishes for a safe and fun evening with your children.

Marshmallow Snowman

I can't believe it's Friday! This week has just flown by. Today is New Release Day at Meljen's Designs. This cute little Marshmallow Snowman is just one of cute images Melissa has come up with this week. Isn't he a cutie. Quick and easy to colour up too! Check out the other new images right here in her shop
I kept my card rather simple. I love the clean & simple look but have a real hard time achieving it. I tend to fill up all the spaces. even with this card I couldn't leave the white spots alone, I had to folder emboss them and add a bit of glitter to the snowflake centers! The circle was cut using a Spellbinder die. Added some pretty rick rack and a simple stamped sentiment.
Have a wonderful day and weekend.
hugs,
Nancy

Judging by the way Alanna has been making Halloween Cards I think it would be safe to say it is her favourite holiday. Between you & me, I think it has a little bit to do with candy being involved, lol. Yet another vice she has picked up fro her grandma, lol.
Alanna choose another cute image by Meljen's Designs to work with and lots of grandma's scraps.
Thanks for stopping by and for all the lovely comments.

Rootin' Tootin' Christmas

Yeah! It's Friday. I don't know about you but I am so ready for the weekend.
Today is New Release Day at Meljen's Designs. The images are so cute, I do hope you go on over to the Meljen's blog (http://meljensdesignsblog.blogspot.ca/ ) and check them out. I used 2 of the new images (Little Lights Cowboy Boot & Rootin' Tootin' Christmas sentiment) and 1 oldie, the Holly Leaves.
I cut out the center of the front card and used acetate to make a see thru window. Then I adhered the sentiment to the inside so you could see it through the window. I used Copics to colour the images. Added a few gemstones to act as the holly berries. No DP's, just cardstock on this one. Added a pretty ribbon to the top of the wreath with a little snowflake in the center.

Inside View
Well, that'a it for me. Enjoy your weekend.
hugs,
Nancy

Check out her shop right here http://meljensdesigns.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=40_47 . I used Copics to colour the image. The DP's are by Authentique.
Hope you will take up the challenge and join us this week...who knows you could be one of this week's winners.

Simple Pleasures

Good morning, hope you are enjoying your day. It's a bit rainy here but the temperature isn't too bad for the middle of October.
My card today features one of the free digis offered to us for the Progressive challenge over at CDAC (http://priscillastyles.ning.com/groups/group/show?groupUrl=cdac-progressive-freebie-challenges)  . It sort of gave me a old fashioned feeling so I went with a rose/pink colour scheme with my DP and embellishments. I kept off the sentiment simply because I wasn't sure what ocassion I would use this card for...it has many possibilities.
Well that's it for today. Until next time...
hugs,
Nancy

For my card I used the "Haunted House" image. My DP's are all from MME, the Mischievous Collection. I used a Spellbinder die to cut out the image. The sentiment is computer genmerated. Added a few gemstones & glitter glue for a bit of bling. Some faux stitiching to help finish this card up.

Nuts About You

Hi there, it's my DT day over at Meljen's Designs and this is what I decided to make. Our mission this month was "Tic, Tac, Toe" using this as our guide:

So, I chose the items on the left side. I decided on a Circle Card and the cute image "Acorn Mouse". My DP's are by 7 Gypsies. The hand rolled flower was orange but I didn't like it so I sprayed it with Adirondack ink. Used a few Spellbinder Dies to make the circles and the scroll work. Distressed all the edges. Twine, several buttons and some glitter pen qualify this card for the Tic, Tac, Toe theme. A real fun project and I am pleased with how it turned out. I hope you will take some time to check out all of Melissa's cute Fall images...they're adorable!
Melissa has also decided to give 3 lucky people a couple of her images for free.
Here is how you can play along with us...

1. Create a project using the above Tic-Tac-Toe board and share your project with us on our new Meljen's Designs Club on Facebook. Make sure you let us know it's for the "Tic-Tac-Toe" game when you post your project.

2. Leave a comment on this blog post ( http://meljensdesignsdt.blogspot.ca/) and let us know that you've played along with our game.

Once you've done these two steps:
THREE people will win TWO FREE DIGITAL IMAGES!!

Spread the word! The more you play, the more chances you get to win a couple of the cutest digital images around! The three winners will be announced on the Meljen's Designs Club on Facebook on Thursday, November 1st.
Come on...git colourin'!
Until next time.
hugs,
Nancy

Thanksgiving Day Card

Good morning and Happy Thanksgiving Day to my fellow Canadians. I hope you have a wonderful day celebrating with family and friends. Remember to pause and really count your blessings because we do have so much to be thankful for - even when it seems like the going is tough at times.
My card today features a photo of a Scarecrow I had in my yard a few years back. I made the head & painted on his face and simply attached it to an old shirt & pair of jean overalls. He looked quite cute and welcoming{not scary in the least!}, sitting on a bale of straw with a few stalks of corn, several pumpkins and gourds scattered around him. Made for a great Fall photo.
The oak leaves were purchased already cut at a local craft store. The sentiment is a rubber stamp. Simply added some raffia ribbon tied in a bow long the top.
Well that's it for today. Off to eat more turkey with my husband family {yesterday it my family} and later visit my Dad who is in the hospital.
I always thank God for you and your lovely comments.
hugs,
Nancy

Happy Halloween

Well it's time for a new challenge over at Meljen's Designs and this week the theme is "Anything Goes". As long as you use a Meljen's image (and Melissa makes that real easy because she has a whole lot of them for free - just check out her shop:  http://meljensdesignsblog.blogspot.ca/ ) you can make anything you'd like.
I decided to make a card and chose "Little Wizard Mouse" to work with. My DPs and die cut frame are all from MME. Added a couple of different ribbons, some twine and a sentiment to finish it off.
Thanks for stopping by. I do hope you will check out the Meljen Blog for some more great inspiration and join in the challenge this week. Who knows, maybe you will be one of  this week's winners!
hugs,
Nancy

Oh So Scary! by Alanna

Well, here I am again with another night post...but I just had to share another card by my granddaughter, Alanna. The poor sweetie has come down with the Chicken Pox! Caught them from her brothers. She is simply covered from head to toe with the nasty things. So to cheer her up I decided to showcase one of her cards. (She loved all of the kind comments on her last one and has been colouring up a storm since then). For this one Alanna coloured up  Meljen's image "Whacky Hat Cat" with her Crayola markers. Her DPs are from her Mom's scrapbox. The sticker sentiment is compliments from my scrapbox. I think those buttons are from my jar as well, (giggle, that's what Grandmas are for!).
That's it for tonight.
hugs,
Nancy

Hogs and Kisses

Another late night post, but better late than never right?! This is my card for the challenge over at CDAC. The "Stars" were announced today...sad to say I wasn't one of them, but I am happy for the winners. Great job ladies! You can check them out here:
The cute image is by Pantry Doodle. I used Copics to colour it. I used a fun assortment of DPs. The flower and image background was cut from Spellbinder Dies. A few gemstones and a computer generated sentiment to finish this card up.
Thanks for stopping by.
hugs,
Nancy
