Boo!

Good morning! Hope you are looking forward to a wonderful day. Over at Meljen's it's New Release Day and boy does Melissa ever have some cuties this month. You can view all of them over in the shop, ( http://meljensdesignsblog.blogspot.ca/ ), but I wanted to share 2 of them with you today. The 2 images on the left side of my card are from the new releases: Witchy Face and Franky Face. The other 3 images are Oldies But Goodies ( Fuzzer The Monster; Whacky Hat Cat & Quilted Boo!), that are available in the shop as well. This was a very fun and easy card to put together. Just colouring and some faux stitching. I hope you will take some time to vist the Meljen Blog and check out the projects by the other DT Members. Oh, and don't forget our current challenge - we love to see your work.
Until next time.
hugs
Nancy

Halloween Card by Alanna

I know it's late but I just wanted to share a card with you that my sweet granddaughter, Alanna, made. This past weekend  Alanna & I got to hang out together, so we decided to colour up a few images and make some cards. Alanna loves Meljen images, the Halloween ones being her favourites. She had a lot of fun colouring them. She actually ended up making 5 cards so I will be sharing them with you over the next few weeks as we get closer to Halloweeen. Since her mom is too busy to get much papercrafting done Alanna has claimed her mom's supplies as her own. She created her first card with these fun letters, clips, buttons & paper. She used Crayola makers to colour this image (Little Witch Mouse). Not bad for a 10 year old! I think Alanna is a "little scrap off the old pad", even if I do say so myself. giggle
My sweet husband is trying to help me sort out this blogger thing of not being able to upload pictures. This one uploaded on the second try so maybe uploading will go more smoothly allowing me to post regularly again.
Thanks for stopping by.
hugs,
Nancy

Cherish

I have to sayI am so glad it's Friday. It's been an busy week, my eldest daughter has been suffering with Shingles and her 2 little boys ended up coming down with Chicken Pox. So Grandpa, Grandma and Aunt Jazzie have had to shift into high gear trying to help out as much as we can. Hopefully next week will be a bit quieter.
Anyway, amongst all the craziness I managed to get a card done this morning. The Vintage image only required a bit of colour tinting, which I did with my Copics. The DPs are all by Authentique their Loyal Collection. Lots of Spellbinder work on this card. Also a bit of ribbon, a few gem stones, faux stitiching, a layered flower with heart brad center and a sentiment by Stampin'Up.
Thanks so much for stopping by & blessings on your weekend.
hugs,
Nancy

A New Challenge Day

Good morning! Hope you are looking forward to a great day and to help that happen we are having a new challenge over at Meljen's Designs  http://meljensdesignsdt.blogspot.ca/ . The theme this week is "Funny Bone" (use a funny verse or poem{and a Meljen's image of course}) on your project.
For my card I choose the "Darling Dalmation" image  ( http://meljensdesigns.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=2_8 )to work with. Isn't she a cutie! I coloured the image with Copic Markers. The DP is by BoBunny (a real oldie). I kept things kinda simple with just a few gemstones, some faux stitching & a couple of paper clips. The sentiment is computer generated. The inside reads as follows:

And I do hope that for you!
hugs until later,
Nancy

One Of Those days

Good morning to you all. The weather has certainly changed here. Gloomy and rainy! And the temperature is supposed to drop to 5C tonight. Looks like Fall is on it's way.
My card today is one that I made for the Progressive Challenge over at CDAC. We wre given the image a while ago and then were asked to make a project with it. This morning the "Stars" were announced...I was not one of them. But I would like to say a big "Congratulations Ladies!" to the winners, lovely work. If you would like to get in on this fun challenge just check it out right here:
For my card I printed the image out twice; once on white cardstock and another on printed paper. By doing this I was able to give a "Wallpapered Look" to the background. I then coloured the window and kitty on the sofa with my Copics. Cut them out and adhered them to the one on the printed one. The DPs are MME. I used a Spellbinder die to cut out the matting for the image. Added a few buttons and a computer generated sentiment.
Thank you for all of your kind and encouraging comments.
hugs and blessings on your day,
Nancy

Mini Pizza Box

Mini Pizza Box Top

Side View

Hope you had  a wonderful weekend. It was beautiful here in SW Ontario. Today is still sunshiny with a bit of a breeze...a good way to start the week.
Today I decided to make something other than a card. This little box is extremely easy to make and a great way to use up some of those scrap papers. I got the tutorial from SCS. The cute mouse image is by Meljen's Designs. I used my Copics to colour him up.  The DPs are all from the Kraft Funday collection by MME. I added a lot of distress ink to the edges. Used a Spellbinder die to cut out the image & second circle. A little bow wuith a button center to finish this up.
Thanks for taking time out of your day to stop by.
hugs,
Nancy

Together Forever

I appreciate so much that you take time out of your busy day to stop by and take a peek at my blog. I try hard to update it often so you won't be disappointed and today I have my Meljen's DT card to share with you. (I hope you will stop by the Meljen's blog and check out all the fun things going on there). http://meljensdesignsdt.blogspot.ca/
This month Dianna suggested Karaoke for the theme. What fun is that! I always listen to Contemporary Christian music while I'm crafting. In all honesty I listen to it whenever I'm doing anything; housecleaning, gardening, driving, at work...I think you get the picture. Anyway, my only problem was which song to pick, I love them all!  So I decided to pick the image first and then decide on the song.
The image is Teddy Bear Couple and you can find it here:
I coloured it with Copics Markers. The papers are a modge podge from my scrapbox. I added a bit of ribbon, some punch work and a computer generated sentiment.
Now for the song, I chose "I Will Be Here" by Steven Curtis Chapman. It's a beautiful song. You can listen to it here:

I hope you enjoy it.
Until next time.

Sweet As Cherry Pie

Well, I have to say I've surprised myself. I did not think I would get a card done tonight, because I am so tired and feeling a bit under the weather, but I did! Yeah! It helped that the cute image was coloured up some time ago. The 2 DPs are from MME. I used my Spellbinder scalloped circle die quite a bit for this "Joy Fold Card". I also used a die to cut out the 3 layered flowers. Several brads, a few gemstones, lots of distress inking and some faux stitching helped to finish this card up.
The small front flap with the image on it opens up to reveal a Happy Birthday greeting.

Sweet dreams,
Nancy

This is the day...

Hope you are enjoying this beautiful Wednesday, at least it's  beautiful here. Sunny, with a gentle warm breeze and a temp of 29C. Perfection!
Blogger finally let me post this card, only after about 50 attempts at it. (I think this blogger thing is all just a test of my faith & patience & in all honesty sometimes I'm not doing so well!).

Anyway, the DPs are all We R Memory Keepers. I used Spellbinder Dies to cut out the flowers and leaves. Antique buttons were used for the flower centers. A little bit of faux stitching to tie things all together.

I have to do a little bit of "Proud Momma" boasting. My daughter Jasmine, (http://alittledabofglue.blogspot.ca/),  was published in Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine, the Fall 2012 Edition. WHOO!! WHOO!! You can see her work on page 118 (full page) & 119 (bottom left corner), with a little sneak preview on page 6 (top corner). Way to go Jazz!!! I knew it was only a matter of time.

Thanks so much for stopping by and for your kind comments.
hugs,
Nancy

Happy Holidays

Well, it's a bit late here Sunday evening but I wanted to get this project posted. I've been having so much trouble with uploading my photos with blogger. I'm afraid it will just quit uploading altogether, and since I'm pretty computer illiterate I find it very frustrating. It's taken me over forty tries just to get this front shot uploaded & I was hoping to show you a photo of the back, but only blogger knows if that will happen!
Anyway, this is a cute little bag I made using a template by My Time Made Easy. The DPs are by We Are Memory Keepers. Yesterday I got a great deal at Winners on several packs of these papers. The image is a Magnolia stamp that I've had coloured up for some time.. I used a Spellbinder die to cut out the image matting, once from navy cardstock; the other (red) from broadcloth. I punched the white snowflakes using a Martha Stewart punch. Added a metal snowflake, stamped sentiment, some faux snow and stitching (real & faux) to finish it up.
Only another 17 tries to get this back shot uploaded!!! The back has this sweet little pocket to hold a gift card.
Thanks for taking time out of your day to stop by and visit...I really do appreciate it.
hugs & blessings,
Nancy

Trick Or Treat

Good Friday morning to you. So glad the weekend is almost here!
Even though the temperatures have been high here in SW Ontario, the trees are already losing a lot of their leaves, (even though  they are still green). Makes me wonder if we will have a colourful Fall this year or just bare trees to look at.
Anyway all these falling leaves make me think of Halloween (it will be here before you know it), thus this card.
It features not 1 but 3 images by Meljen's Designs. The little "trick or treater" is a new one but the other 2 are still available in the shop. Check it out right here:
The Dps & Die cut frame & stars I used are by MME. I used a Spellbinder die to cut out the corners & sentiment. A bit of glitter glue, several buttons and some twine were used to finish this card up.
Hope you enjoy your weekend.
hugs,
Nancy

One Smart Cookie

Well, it's back to school for the students and Teachers, which means back to the regular janitorial routine for me.  Even though it means the summer is nearly over I do welcome the beginning of the school year. It means the extra hard work is done for another year and hopefully things at work will settle down a bit. (I'm a real routine kinda girl).
The beginning of school also means that my husband or I go to our eldest daughter's house every morning to get our 3 grandkids up, ready and driven to school. (Our daughter is a teacher but she teaches at a different school, in a different town, so she has to leave early).
Today also starts the new challenge over at Meljen's Designs and quite fittingly it is "Back To School". For my DT project I decided to make a treat for the kids to give to their teachers (kids just loving doing that & I love making use of the projects I create!).

So we baked a couple of batches of cookies, "Chocolate Chip" and "Chocolate Crinkle". Then we put a dozen in each of our 4 clear treat bags and topped them off with this Bag Topper I made using 2 of Meljen's digital images. The front features "Smart Cookie" and the back is one from her word art. ( I couldn't find it in the shop but I'm sure Melissa would find it for you).

Front

Back

Finished Project
It says: "With You As My Teacher I Should Be "1" (One) Smart Cookie !"

I actually made up 4 of these bags, they were quick and easy. You could even adapt them to give one to the Principal, School Secretary, Bus Driver or maybe even that hard working School Janitor!
Anyway, I do hope you will join in the fun at Meljen's Designs (http://meljensdesignsdt.blogspot.ca/) and share your "Back To School" project with us.
Hugs,
Nancy

Busy Little Hands

Well, it's back to school today and the grandkiddies were very anxious to get going! I think mostly to see all their friends, although I know they love their teachers.. Our littlest guy was so disappointed that he didn't get to go today - SK doesn't start until next week! I am so glad that his beloved Aunt Jazzie was going to hang out with him today or I am sure we would have had a major meltdown.

Anyway, 2 of the grandkids were very busy crafting yesterday so I wanted to share their work with you. Alanna made this cute corner bookmark, for herself, using an image by The Doodle Garden.

Zach, who just turned 5 in August, made this sweet card for his teacher. He used a lollipop digital image from Meljen's Designs. I think he might have gotten a little help from his sister when it came to the cutting parts.
Well, that's it for today.

I'll leave you with a photo of our "First Day of School".

And of course the "Funny Shot".

blessings.

Fun With My Granddaughter

Happy Labour Day to all my fellow Canadians. Hope you get some much deserved "R&R" today.
Yesterday I got to hang out with my granddaughter, Alanna, age 10. She is such a sweetie and she loves to colour and make cards! (Guess who she takes after, hehe. No wonder her family calls her  "Little Nancy"!) Anyway, we had a blast colouring up a ton of images. I just wanted to share one of Alanna's cards with you. It's a "Joy Fold" card & since we changed the size I did help with the measuring. The image is by the talented Melissa from Meljen's Designs. Alanna used Crayola markers to colour her image (I'm pretty protective of my Copics!). All the papers are from my scrapbox. The sentiment is what Alanna came up with  and is computer generated. It says:
"Ready or Not...          ...Here We Come!!!"
Alanna is going to give this to her Grade 6 teacher tomorrow, when it's back to school for all the kids around here.
Thanks for stopping by & blessings on your day.
hugs,
Grandma (Nancy)  & Alanna
