Robbie the Robot Card

Since I have two grandsons who are always asking me to make a Robot,  I knew the minute I saw this adorable Robot image by Meljen's Designs  I had to get it.  Very easy to colour and the boys just love him. For this card I attached the Robot with an Adhesive Spring by "Close To My Heart", so that he jiggles when you touch the card. Lots of fun! The DP's are from my stash. Added a lot of silver glitter with a glitter pen but I'm afraid it doesn't show up that well in the photo. Here is a close up of the spring attachment.

Haven't added a sentiment yet, not sure if it will be  a Birthday or JK Graduation card.
hugs & blessings,

First of Three

Can you believe that it's nearly the end of May? This month has just flown by! Well, since the month's end is looming near that means that a few challenges are coming to an end also, hence the posting of 3 cards. Thanks for being understanding.
First up is this sweet image by "A Day For Daisies". Their images are simply adorable. This one was offered as one of the images in the Progressive Challenge over at CDAC. The metal sentiment (in the bottom corner) says "Wish", it didn't scan very well.
I'll keep my words few since my cards are many.

June Birthday

Good Monday morning to you all and a Happy Memorial Day to all of my wonderful friends in the USA.
Today is the start of this week's challenge at Kaboodle Doodles and guess what the theme is..."Anything Goes!" Yep, that's right, no excuse for not entering your papercraft project this week! Who knows you could be this week's winner and recieve some free digis from our sponsor 'Pink Gem Designs".
For my card I used one of their adorable digis to create a Birthday Card. I don't know about you, but I just can't have enough birthday cards on hand. Seems like there is always someone I know celebrating their"Special Day"! My DPs are by MME. I cut the layered flower out by using a Spellbinder die in my |Grand Caliber. Sentiment is a digital freebie. Added some self sticking pearls, a bit of ribbon & a few buttons to finish this card up.
Thanks so much for stopping by. Hugs & blessings on your day,
Nancy

When Life Hands You Lemons...

Well I really do hope that life isn't handing you lemons but, if it is then I do hope you'll be like this little sweetheart and use it for something positive. This adorable image is one of Mo Manning's, (who else can draw children in such a delightful way). The DP and layered flower are from Michael's. Added some real stitching to this circle card. A few buttons & cut off thumb tacks help eo finish this card up.
Thanks for stopping by. Enjoy your day.

Well that's it for today. Short & sweet.

Paper Doll Card

Good Monday Morning to you. Hope you had a wonderful weekend. Here in Canada we are celebrating Victoria Day, so I am enjoying an extra day off. Yeah!
Today I am sharing with you my Kaboodle Doodles DT card. Our theme this week is "Dressed for Success" and we would like you to use Clothing in your project. Can't wait to see what all you wonderfully creative folks come up with!
I think this sweet paper doll (by Mo Manning) would be a tremendous success for any little girl's birthday card. I coloured the doll and shaded her wardrobe with Copic markers. I printed the dresses on the MME DPs. I then cut out all the pieces and attached them to the card with velcro dots. I placed a velcro dot on the doll's tummy so the dresses can easily be changed. Here are a few close up pictures to show the front, inside flap & each of the 3 inside panels.

I used little handmade hangers (made from paperclips) to hang the extra dresses from. Also used a corner punch, circle punch, Spellbinder dies, a couple of rubber stamps, some pearls, ribbon & a couple of brads. So that's it! Now it's your turn and remember if your project is the lucky winner you could win a $10 voucher to Di's Digi Downloads.
Thanks for stopping by.
hugs,
Nancy

Just Had To Share These

Today my sweet husband worked very hard planting all the plants we had recently purchased at a few of our local nurseries. While digging around he discovered this beautiful Clematis (top photo), full of blooms that were near the ground & hidden by a clump of ferns. It is so pretty & it was such a lovely surprise that I just had to take a photo of it & share it with you. The second photo is another pretty Clematis that just seems to get hundreds of blooms. I do love my garden & since the flowers are starting to pop I hope you don't mind if I share the odd flower photo with you.
Have a blessed Sunday.

A Tag

Yes, another post. I promise it is the last one for today. This is a tag I made using one of the beautiful digital images by "a day for daisies". I love the whimsical look of these images. I coloured it with Copics. Used a 3 heart corner punch & a Tim Holtz's die on the outer edge & corners of the tag. I distressed the edges with a Distressing tool & ink. Added a couple of flourishes & a layered flower with a heart brad center to the top of the tag. Finished it up with some pretty ribbon.
Thanks for taking a peek & for being so understanding with my crazy posting.
Hugs & sweet dreams,
Nancy

Sometimes I Sit & Think...

Good morning to you. Hope your day goes really well. My card today features another of Mo Mannings wonderful images, "Before the Fall". My DP is by MME.  I kept this card simple since it will probably go to a man & they're not usually impressed with buttons, bows or flowers. Sentiment inside says:
Sometimes I sit and think.
Other times I sit and forget.
Sorry I missed your Birthday.
Thanks for stopping by.

Hello

My how time flies, seems like I just posted my Kaboodle Doodles' DT challenge card & here we go again!. This week at KD we would love to see CAS. Yep, clean & simple. Our sponsor is Meljen's Designs & Melissa is offering 4 of her cute images to the creator of this week's winning card.
Now, first off I have to say that the CAS style does not come easy for me. I tend to fill in all the blank spaces with lots of colour & embellishments. But I also have to admit that I found this card quite fun to make. It actually came together really quickly! I used one of Melissa's images ( I think it was one of the first freebies I ever got) & coloured it in with Copics. I kept the colour scheme down to just 2 - orange & white. I did have to add a bit of dimension to my card so I folder embossed the white & stitched around the outside. To add just a bit more personality to it I added a bit of ribbon & a real button.
Thanks for stopping by & your sweet, sweet comments.
Hope to see your projects linked up at KD.

CDACPC17

Hi there. Glad you stopped by. This is my card for the progressive challenge over at CDAC. This sweet image is by "Designed 2 Delight". DP's are leftovers from my stash, as are the ribbon & metal heart. Used a Tim Holtz's die to cut the scalloped edge.

Black & White

So glad you decided to stop by to take a peak. My card for today features a pre-coloured vintage digital image that was a freebie. I love the half coloured/half black & white look.  My papers are all from my stash box, as are the brads, buttons & clips. I cut the flowers using a Spellbinder die & tehn folder embossed them.
Wishing you sweet dreams.

Hello...

Yep, a second post for today. (Just wanted to make sure I got this card in on time). The sweet image on this card is by Melissa over at Meljen's Designs. I had coloured it up sometime ago. (When ever I think I'm going to have idle time somewhere, ie. waiting for someone at an app't., babysitting the grandkids, I take along some colouring to do. I'm pretty sure it was during one of these time that this little guy was coloured). The DP is by MME. I used a folder embosser to give the cross piece a bit of interest.
Thanks for your sweet comments.
blessings to you,
Nancy

with love on Mother's Day

Well, it's Monday morning & that means it's time for another Kaboodle Doodles' challenge, http://kaboodledoodles.blogspot.ca/ . This week we would like your projects to "Honour Mom". Our sponsor is the Stamping Boutique & they are generously giving" 3" of their fanastic digital images to one lucky winner. Remember if you enter that could be you!
For my Kaboodle Doodles DT project I choose to make a card. I used Stamping Boutique's cute image, "Audrey with a Heart". As usual I coloured it up wit Copics. I added some gold using a paint pen. DP's are by MME. I also used a Martha Stewart punch to create the lacey edge along the bottom. The sentiment is a digital freebie. I added a bit of twine, layered flower & a brad to finish it off.
Thanks for stopping by. Looking forward to your submissions.
hugs,
Nancy

Mixed Media Class

Hope you are all enjoying your evening. Just thought I'd pop in & let you see what I was up to yesterday. My youngest daughter & I attend a "Mixed Media" class at our local scrapbooking shop, "The Paper Pickle". It was our way of celebrating National Scrapbooking Day. Above is the project we completed. It was a real fun, interesting & informatative afternoon. We were taught how to use a variety of inks, gesso, molding compound & stencils to create projects. Definitely will be trying this again & using it on scrapbook pages & cards. I think I'm going to frame this one (since it was my first attempt) & use it as a wall hanging.
Hope you had some papercrafting time this weekend.
hugs,
Nancy

Mother's Day Card

So glad you decided to stop by for a visit. Hope you're doing well. Today's card is the first of the two cards I'll be making for Mother's Day. This card actually came together very easily & by mistake! The DP already had the doily stamped onto it & while I was trying to distress the edges of the paper I hit the doily & noticed that whatever it was stamped with resisted the ink. So I simply ran my blending tool over the entire thing and voila! I love how it turned out. The vintage digital image was easy to colour up with my Copics because it already had a lot of the shading inked in. The Scripture sentiment was another digital freebie. (Love those so much!). The flowers are Primas. Ribbon for my stash.
Here are a couple of close ups:

Enjoy your day,

Laugh

Sorry for the fuzzy scan on this card photo, I think the buttons were a little too thick for the scanner to work properly. The image is "JoJo" by the wonderfully talented Mo Manning. I can't tell you how many times I've used this little cutie, I just love him. I coloured him with Copics. The Dp is again from the Dollar Store. I tend to browse down the craft aisle whenever I go to the Dollar Store because you never know what little treasures you might find there. I used embossing folders on the triangle & circle. Ribbon, sentiment & buttons are from my stash.
Thanks for taking the time out of your busy day to stop by & take a peek.
Blessings,
Nancy

SMILE

Hope there are lots & lots of people & things in your day that are making you smile. For this card I used mostly dies & punches, no colouring, which is unusual for me. The papers are all from my stash. Flowers are Primas. My sweet daughter bought a package of these cute canvas tags & was so kind to share with me, thank you Jasmine. Sentiment is a rubber stamp from the Dollar Store. Added some bling with glitter glue on the swirls & gems on the butterflies.
Blessings,
Nancy
