Lovin' these Stamps

While checking out other papercrafter's blogs I've discovered these great digital images by Saturated Canary. Seems like a lot of people have known about them for quite some time...guess I'm a bit slow, lol. These images are just so cute I had to get one (the first of many, but please don't tell my hubby). I had a hard time choosing one 'cuz I wanted them all, but I chose this little sweetie because I make a lot of birthday cards.  She was lots of fun to colour. My Dp is by My Mind's Eye. I used Spellbinder Dies to cut out the flower & branches. Sentiment is by Stampin'up. I still feel like I would like to add something above the sentiment, but not sure what. Maybe 3 little gem stones? Time will tell.
Until next time.

Adorable

What a wonderful day! Yes there was a bit of freezing rain this morning...just enough to "CANCEL SCHOOL!". Music to this school janitor's ears! So guess what I've been doing this morning - you betcha, colouring & making cards. My daughter just called and she & I are heading off to the Paper Pickle to check out Kim's new papercrafting supplies. Oh how I love "Snow/Freezing Rain Days"!
Anyway, this card is for the challenge over at Meljen's Designs. I used her cute image "Monkey Toes"...isn't he/she the sweetest little monkey you've ever seen. You just want to hug it! The challenge is to use "Buttons". My DP's are My Mind's Eye. Ribbon, buttons & embroidery floss from my stash. I used a corner punch & a Tim Holtz's die. Sentiment is by Stampin'up.
Hope you have a wonderful day also.

For You

Those challenge deadlines just seem to sneak up on me! I was afraid I wouldn't get this card done in time but amazingly I did.
This adorable digital image is by Mo Manning ( Digital Pencil Too). I just love her images. She has a whole bunch of new ones for Easter that I am finding irresistable. I know I'll have to limit how many I get 'cuz my hubby get the PayPal notices...gives me away every time!
Anyway the weekly challenge over at Mo's is to use "Lace" & at Sentimental Sundays the challenge is to use "Lace & Pearls", I'm thinking this card works for both.
My DP's are My Mind's Eye. Sentiment is a rubber stamp. The hinge, brad, pearls, lace & gift are from my embellies stash. I cut the scalloped circle by using a Spellbinder die (then folded it in half). Added some glitter glue & "faux stitching" to tie it all together.

Birthday Wishes

Happy Monday morning to you! Hope you had a great weekend. I did, I celebrate my birthday with all the family. Grandkids add so much fun to occasions such as this.
My card for today is for the challenge over at Kaboodle Doodle, hope you will join us. We would like to see purple on your project, lots or a little - it's up to you. You could win a get prize from Pink Gems Designs.
For my card I choose to use lots of purple. My Dp's are from Michael's Recollection collections in "Purple Gingham & Purple Paisley". My image "Sunflower Sprinkles" is by "Pink Gems Designs". The sentiment is a rubber stamp by "Stampin'up". I used a  Spellbinder die & Creative Memories cutting system to cut the ovals. Scalloped scissors, gems & some ribbon were used to add the finishing touches.
So that's it for today.
Again, I hope you will join us over at Kaboodle Doodle.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

This is my third card  for the CDAC Progressive Challenge. This image is by Crafting with Jack. Very easy & fun to colour up. Added some glitter glue to the shamrocks to give them a bit of sparkle. The Dp is from Michael's Reflection Collection "Green Gingham" & the cardstock is by Bazzill Basics, "Emerald City". I simply added a bow & a few gems to finish this card up.
I think this is the last card I'll get finished for this round of the progressive challenge. This group is the end of the second round so the Grand Prize for over 100 rubber & Clear Stamps will be held next week. Then another brand new round will be starting up & you can join for free, hope you'll look into it 'cuz it's lots of fun.
Hope you have a wonderful day,
Nancy

Birthday Wishing

Here is my first completed card for the progressive challenge at CDAC. This pretty image is by A Day For Daisies. I decided to change things up a bit & made a circle easel card. I like how it turned out.,  a real girly feel to it. The roses & ballet slippers have been in my stash for sometime so I don't remember where I got them. I used a Spellbinder die to cut out the scalloped circles. Added a bit of bling with a few gems & some glitter glue. The sentiment is by Stampin'up.
Thanks fopr stopping by,

YAHOO

"Yahoo!" is exactly what I said when one of my cards was picked to be a "Gem of the Week" over at Scrapbook Challenges & since this week's challenge over at Mo's Digital Pencil Too is "My Sentiments Exactly" I thought this would be the perfect card to make. This sweet image is by the talented Mo Manning and I think it is actually called "Yahoo". It was a freebie but I'll bet you can find it in her shop. I used the sketch  from the challenge over at Prickley Pear, so that made this card quick & easy.
Thanks for stopping by today.

Enjoy Your Day

Happy Monday to everyone and I do hope you are "Enjoying Your Day", I know I am. First off, here in Ontario we are celebrating "Family Day" so I get the day off of work, yeah! Secondly, today is my first day being a Design Team member at Kaboodle Doodles! How exciting is that! This is the first DT I have ever been on. I am so looking forward to working with the rest of the team, they have already been very kind & patient with me since all of this is very new . Thank you ladies.
The Kaboodle Doodle challenge this week is to feature "Food, Cooking or Baking on your project, so I chose to make a card using this sweet little image by Di's Digi Downloads called "Birthday Rascal". I used Copics to colour the image. The sentiment is a rubber stamp by Stampin'up. My DP's are all My Mind's Eye. I used a Sizzix embossing folder along the bottom of the card.
So, now I would like to invite you to join us at Kaboodle Doodles for this challenge...you could win a $10 voucher to Di's Digi Downloads. Can't wait to see all of your beautiful projects.
Well, that's it for today. I'm off to spend some time with my hubby, kids & grandkids since that's what "Family Day" is all about.
hugs,
Nancy

Happiness

Sorry for the second post today, but I was checking out some sites & discovered that Mo's Digital Pencil Too's "Bingo Challenge would be finished in just a few hours. I choose to use diecuts, brads & embossing for my Bingo. I love this image by Mo, it is just so sweet.  I decided to do an easel card. I used my Spellinder die to cut out the card base & easel part. I used a Sizzix embossing folder to emboss the bit of card stock along the bottom. To hold up the easel I added a few things you might find in a boy's pocket, I even made  a tiny paper boat. Sentiment was an online freebie. All of the dp's are from MME, Lost & Found "Breeze" collection. Here are a couple of close pictures.

February

Happy Wednesday everyone. Hope you had a fun Valentine's Day, I did! In the morning my hubby & I went for breakfast & then my sweet daughter brought us supper (candlelight & everything). We dined on BBQ salmon, rosemary/garlic mashed potatoes, slivered carrots & a wonderful salad with homemade dressing. And for dessert she made a delicious angelfood cake with orange creamcheese frosting. Thank you Jasmine, you made our day!

Now on to my card. This one is for the sketch challenge over at My Mind's Eye. I think you still have a few days to enter if you are interested. All of my papers are from MME's Lost & Found "Blush" Collection. I even made the flowers using their paper & my new Spellbinder die. The sentiment is a freebie from the Free Digital Site. I added a few buttons tied with gold metallic thread, a bit of ribbon & inked all the edges with Versa Ink in Burgandy.
Till later,
Nancy

Hugs

Well, I did it1 I got all 5 cards done for the progressive challenge over at CDAC & submitted on time. The way things have been going this past little while I didn't think I was going to get any of them done. Amazing what you can accomplish using a few minutes here & a few minutes there. This cute little image is by Melissa T Liban. I folder embossed the front of the card, cut the hearts out of glitter paper (from Michael's), & made my own paper hearts. The sentiment is a dimensional sticker. Actually this card is for my dear husband, so it's signed, sealed & ready to be delivered in the morning.
Hope you all have a great night,
Nancy

A Day To Celebrate

First off I want to apologize for this scan,(I even tried taking a photo but it turned out even worse). The colours are actually very pale pinks, creams & greens. This card is for the Pastel Challenge over at Meljen's Designs. To me this was an easy challenge since Mel's whimsical images just naturally go with soft colours. Ths image I used is actually one that I won in a previous challenge a few weeks ago. I picked it thinking ahead to Spring & Easter, but I think it works perfectly for a Birthday or even a Thinking of You theme. I decided to make some more use of my leftover papers & embellishments so this entire card was completed using just that. I machine stitched all the edges (I love that look - don't know why I don't do it more often!). The 2 ticket sentiments were freebies I got from this site: http://freedigitalstamps.blogspot.com/
The ladies that run this site are wonderful. They find & get permission to offer all these wonderful freebies on a daily basis & then email them to you. How great is that!
Well, that's it for now. Hope you are having a fanastic day.
Nancy
(p.s. Just want to wish a Happy Birthday to my dear Sister-in-law)

Second Post

I  have probably totally confused everyone with this double post, sorry about that. I'll figure this techie stuff out sooner or later.
Anyway, this card, "Thinking of You" is another for the soon ending challenge over at CDAC. The more cards you enter the more chances you have of winning the big prize, which is over 100 rubber & clear stamps. (Maybe now you can understand why I'm posting so many cards in one day). This image was given by Whimsy and Stars Studio.  My dp's are by My Mind's Eye from their Lost & Found Collection - "Breeze" & Scrapbox. The sentiment is a rubber stamp by "Stampendous!". The sun is a wooden accent that I bought at a $ Store.
I promise, that's it for today, but tomorrow is only a few hours away & I'll be sharing another card with you for a different challenge.
Enjoy your evening,
Nancy

My dps are by MME, "Lime Twist" -"Life of the Party Collection". I added some folder embossing & faux stitching. The sentiment is another free digital I found on-line. Sent with Love

Well, I woke up to a Winter Wonderland this morning. It has stopped snowing & the sun has come out so it does look quite pretty outside. More like it should be for this time of the year.
My card for today is another Valentine. Over at  "Simply Create Too, http://simplycreatetoo.blogspot.com/, they are having a "Red Hot" (G-Rated) challenge. This is my entry. The image is a freebie from Cuddley Buddley. I used Copics to colour it up. The sentiment is another digital freebie, source unknown. My dp is by Crate Paper, their 6x6 "Farmhouse" collection. (I love 6x6 pads of dp, so perfect for card making since the print has usually been scaled down to card size). Other than that I simply rounded my corners with a corner punch.
Hope you have a wonderful weekend. We are celebrating my sister-in-law's birthday, so out to dinner we go...yeah!
hugs,
Nancy

LOVE

Well, I finally made it to our new Michael's Craft Store. It actually opened last Saturday, but both my parents have been in hospital, so today was the first chance I had to go. My Mom had angioplasty last Friday & my Dad had suffered a stroke the week before. Both are home for now, though Dad goes for cancer surgery this week & Mom has a second angioplasty next week. Let's just say my life has been very, very busy! Thank goodness for cardmaking. Colouring is a real stress reliever for me.

Today's card is for a couple challenges. (Some weeks those challenge deadline dates just seem to sneak up so fast!).  I choose a sweet image by Meljen's Designs for my main focus point. I think this sketch, from Fetch a Sketch,  really draws your eye to the image. My dp is by My Mind's Eye "Lime Twist". I cut the scalloped ovals by using  Spellbinder dies in 3 different sizes. I also used a Spellbinder die to cut the leaves. The sentiment is a digital freebie & I used a circle punch & scalloped circle punch to cut it out & mat it. Added a few paper flowers with brad centers, pearls & some glitter glue. As usual I coloured the image with Copics.

Hope you are having a wonderful Wednesday.
blessings,
Nancy

CHERISH

Sorry for the second post today but, I realized I needed to get this card posted for some up coming challenges. This cute digital image is by Sew Many Cards. It is one of the images offered in the Progressive Challenge over at CDAC. It was so fun & easy to colour up with my Copics. The sketch is part of the challenge over at Kaboodle Doodles ( you also have to incorporate hearts & flowers into your project). It didn't scan very well but my card base is embossed cardstock. The dp's are little bits & pieces of leftover paper. I love paper & just can't stand to throw away even the littlest pieces - you never know when they will come in handy! The sentiment is a rubber stamp from a set I bought at a yard sale, I think it is by Stampin'up. Added a few gems & a little flower with a brad center to finish this card off.
Well, that's it for today, I promise!
hugs,
Nancy

Today's card is for the "Anything Goes with the Optional Sketch" challenge at Mo's Digital Pencil Too.  I love this sweet image by  Mo & have used it many times. I decided to use the suggested sketch also. Like I've said before I love sketches, they just make card making that much easier. My dp's are from my ever overflowing scrapbox. The sentiment is a rubber stamp that I bought at a $ store. Added a bit of ribbon & some "faux" stitiching to finish it off.

Sock Monkey & Matching Card

Hope you're having a wonderful Tuesday. So glad that you took the time to stop by.
I just love Sock Monkeys. To me they are just the cutest thing. I even bought a pink one for my granddaughter for Christmas. I made it one of my New Year"s resolutions to make one myself. I searched the internet & found some great directions.  I printed them off, went to the nearest $Store to buy some socks, picked up a bag of stuffing & set to work. I'd say in about 3/4 of an hour I had made my first monkey.  (The first of many; both grandsons have put in their requests & my granddaughter & her friends would like one in every colour, lol).
Anyway, while I was making the Sock Monkey I thought a matching card would be cute so I came up with this paper pieced one. The background paper is kinda like a Where's the Sock Monkey" pattern. I know I purchased this Monkey paper at our local $ Store, but since it was in my leftover box I'm not sure which company made it. I used brads for the eyes & ultra fine tipped Sharpie markers to add the stitching details. A bit of twine on the top of his cap.
Both of these projects were fun to do & to me that's what crafting should be - FUN!

Again, thanks for stopping by.

Laugh

Today's post is for the challenge at "Fetch a Sketch". I love sketches, they just make it so much easier for me to make a project. It's also so much fun to see how differently everyone interprets it. I stayed pretty true to the original this time.  Added some shading, buttons & a sentiment.

Hope your week is going well,

Nancy
