Get Well Soon

Today I'd like to share with you my card for the new challenge starting up over at Meljen's Designs. It's a Sketch Challenge! I love sketches so I really enjoyed this challenge! This is the first time I've used this Meljen's image; it's called Get Well Bear and you can find it right here in the store.  I used several different dies and a couple of different punches on this card. Happy to say that all supplies were from my "Treasure Box"! The sentiment is just computer generated. I added some faux stitching and doodling to tie things all together.
Well, that it for today. I do hope you will give our sketch a try and link up your project on the Meljen's Challenge blog...I'll keep my out for you ;) {wink, wink}
hugs,
Nancy

I Love You

I really do love that you stop by to see what I've been up to and for all of your kind comments.
Today I have my card for the new challenge over at Meljen's Designs. It's called "Love You To Pieces" and we would like to see some paper piecing and a Meljen's image on your project. Here's mine...

I decided to work with the MD image "I Heart You Badge". I printed it out 4 times on different pieces of DP and cardstock, [using the trick I shared a few posts back]. I then used a Spellbinder die to cut out the whole image printed on the white dotted paper. I fussy cut the 2 hearts printed on the brown floral dp and then cut the smiling faced heart from a 3rd print. I then hand cut out the ring of words from the card stock. I also fussy cut out the 3 tiny hearts. Then I adhered all the layers, matted them on brown cardstock. I cut the card base using a Spellbinder's die, folder embossing the top coral piece. I inked all of the edges and added 3 pearls to the tiny hearts. Here is a close up.

(I see that one of my hearts has slipped a bit, going to fix that right away before I lose it!)

This was another really fun card to do and again all supplies were from My Treasure Box"! {Doing a Happy Dance :) .
Hope you will take up the challenge and play along with us over Meljen's. I'll be checking out the gallery there for your work!
hugs,
Nancy

Valentine's Day Treat

Hope you are enjoying this beautiful February day! With Valentine's Day right around the corner I thought I'd share with you the Treat Holders I made for my Sunday School class. I used this cute Meljen's Designs' Heart image that you can find right here:
http://meljensdesigns.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=23_25&sort=20a&page=6
I printed the images out on scrap pieces of DP, added some shading with Copic Markers and fussy cut them out, including cutting the center out. I then printed out computer generated Valentine's Day sentiments and cut them out in a heart shape slightly smaller than the digital image. I used a glue gun to attach the sentiment to the cut out heart "frame". Using a Spellbinder die I cut out round scalloped circles, folder embossed them and adhered them to the backs of the hearts. I was going to add a fancy little strip of paper to the backs to slide the treats into but, the little Smarties packets already had a pretty To:/From: backing so I simply attached the packets with a bit of hot glue.

What do you think? I think my S.S. kids will love them!
Thanks for stopping by. Until next time.
hugs,
Nancy
