A Tisket, A Tasket & A Very Pretty Basket

Hey there, thanks for stopping by on this wonderful Sunday. I finished this card last night & since today is the last day to enter a card in the progressive challenge over at CDAC, I thought I better get it in. This pretty basket image was so graciously given by Shelley's Images. I coloured the basket with my Copics & then made a tiny slit along the edge so I could insert these little flowers. I actually inked the flowers first to make the colour match the DPs a bit better. The Dp's are by MME. I used an embossing folder on the strip of red card stock to give it  a bit of character. Tied a tiny twine bow to the basket handle to finish it off. Haven't added a sentiment yet since I think this card could work for a number of different occasions, so I think I'll just wait for the right one to come up.
Blessings,
Nancy

Happy Anniversary

Happy Saturday to you. Can you believe that tomorrow is actually April 1st. Remember to be on your guard tomorrow...you wouldn't want to be labeled a "Fool" by anyone.
Well, Monday, April 2nd happens to be our Wedding Anniversary & we will be celebrating 26 years together.  I don't know about you but I find it very hard to make cards for my husband. Maybe it's trying to find just the right words or maybe it's because my style in card making tends to have a feminine flair to it. I don't know, but my husband always complains that I buy cards to give to him. Well, this year I made my own. It's still kinda girly, I think, but that's the way it goes. The Dp is MME. The sentiment was a freebie from Ginger's House. The assorted flowers are from my stash, as are the wire hearts & gem. For the inside I used a poem I found  online. The layout is from the Sketch Challenge at Willow Sketchie Challenge. I also folder embossed the Dp with Swiss Dots but I'm not sure that they show up that well in the photo.
Well, that's it for today. Have a blessed Sunday.

Wishing You A...

Lots of photos today, since this project has lots of pages.
This is the outside cover of my card. I actually covered the back panels with an assortment of DP's in these shades of pink, ivory & brown. The sentiment is computer generated. Added a bit of ribbon, 3D butterfly & some pretty buttons with gold glittery thread.

This is the first page inside the card. The image is again the cute Bella & Easter Bunny Bronte by Mo Manning. After stamping the background onto the DP, I attached the image with foam squares. I hand cut the cloud, folder embossed it, & inked around the edges. The little dragonfly was a button that I cut the back off of.
This is one of the inside pages, just to show you a bit more of the detail. Again more background stamping, clouds, dimensional bird & chipboard letters that I cut out with my Sizzix & covered with DP before attaching with foam dots.
Another of the iside pages showing a few more of the embellishments; butterfly, ladybug & honey bee.

The inside of the card as a whole. The outside sentiment said "Wishing you a..." & the inside says "HAPPY SPRING".
Thanks for sticking with me thru all this. Hope you like it.

Wishing You a Blessed Easter

Another Easter Card. For this one I used this sweet vintage image of a bunny. The DP is MME. The carrots are actually hearts I cut out using my Sizzix. I simple add a few strands of embroidery floss for the carrot tops. Sentiment is a digital freebie.

CDACPC 14

This is my first finished card for the Progressive Challenge over at CDAC. This cute bunny image was so graciously provided by Stamping Dragon Designs. I coloured her with Copics (the scan made the colours come out quite bright...not that way in real life). All the DP's are from my leftover box. Flower boder was a gift from my Mom. Inked all the edges to give it a bit of an aged look.
Thanks for stopping by & taking a peak.

No Colour

Hope things are going well for you today. This card was a bit of a challenge. Meljen's Designs' challenge this week calls for no colour, except for the image. Well, I didn't want to do a Wedding or Baby card, which probably would have been a lot easier, so I decided to do a Birthday one instead. The cute image is by Melissa & it was super fun to colour up. I added a bit of glitter to the whipped cream. The rest of the card is  pretty basic. Used a lot of folder embossing, white ribbon, white buttons & white floss.
Enjoy your day,
Nancy

Go Forth & Eat Cake...or maybe Cupcakes

Another quick post today. Just happened to finish up this card today & thought I get it uploaded & entered into the challenges, since I never know what a day will bring. The DP's are from the MME pack I bought on the weekend. I coloured the image with my Copics. The rest is pretty straight forward.

Happy Easter

Thanks for stopping by today. I decided I have to get going on my Easter cards, so you will probably be seeing a few of them over the next little while. For this one I used one of Mo Mannings cute Bella images. I coloured it up with Copics. I used a couple of different embossing folders on the cardstock. The DP is by MME. (I found a MME dp pack at Winners, 160 sheets for $14.99, couldn't pass that up!). The sentiment is computer generated. Added some rick rack  ribbon, paper doily & lots of bling.
Have a great day,

Happiness

Hope you're feeling happy this Monday morning. At Kaboodle Doodles this week  we would like you to show us some circles & squares. For my card I choose a 6"x 6" square base. I cut the image ( by Robyn's Fetish) & several layers of matting with my Creative Memories circle cutter. I also punched out smaller circles & used them as a half circle border along the checkered strip of DP. My background DP has a tiny dot throughtout it. Some round brads, buttons & sun make for lots of circles & squares on this card. To dress it up a bit I added some "faux stitching" & a bow. The sentiment is by Stampin'up. Dp's are by MME. Well, that's my take on this challenge...can't wait to see what you can come up with. Hope you'll play along. You never know you could be this week's winner of 4 images by Robyn's Fetish.
Until next time.

Best Wishes

Best Wishes, that's what I'm sending to each and everyone of you. Sometimes it's nice to do just a simple card. No stress, no deadline, just a relaxing time of creativity. That's what this card was. I saw the image and loved it. Coloured it up with my Copics & the rest came together pretty easily. This card could work for a host of different occasions.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today. I'm very excited because this card (http://colouringwithinthelines.blogspot.ca/2012/03/showing-some-green.html) was the random winner at  Sentimental Sundays & I won a shopping spree for 7 digis over at Bug a Boo Stamps. I love all their images so narrowing it down to 7 is going to be tough. lol.
Until next time,

A Little Bird Told Me

I'm so glad you decided to stop by. Hope you are having a great first day od Spring.
My card features an image by Saturated Canary. I think these images are so cute. After I coloured it with my Copics, I cut the image out & mounted it on a double matt, cut using my Spellbinder die. I used foam dimensional to raise up the images. The DP's are by My Mind's Eye. The challenge at Saturated Canary is to use twine, so I used this twisted twine by Jilly Bean. I added 3 buttons  and a computer generated sentiment.
Gotta run.

How Cute Is That!

Well, that's this week's challenge over at Kaboodle Doodles. I hope you'll play along with us. We'd love to see your take on this theme plus you could be the winner of a $10 voucher to Di's Digi Downloads!   Check out all of her cute images here  http://disdigidownloads.blogspot.ca/  .

For my card I used Di's image "Little Bunny Love". I'm not sure what you call this type of card but it's kind of a note/ gift cardholder. The insert, with the image attached, pulls out to reveal a place to write a note or attach a gift card. My DP's are MME. The brads & layered flower are from my stash. The ribbon I bought at my favourite paper craft store "The Paper Pickle", http://paperpickle.ca/. If you are every in the area you just have to check them out. The sentiment is a rubber stamp that I've had forever.
Well, that's it for today. Again I hope you play along, just link up your card here                                                     http://kaboodledoodles.blogspot.ca/

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Hope you are all having a fun-filled St. Paddy's Day. This is a really quick card I made for my hubby today. I told him this is what I look like...at least in my imagination. He said that this is exactly what I look like in his imagination too! lol. He noticed that this leprechaun wasn't drinking the traditional "green beer" but an "ice cap made with chocolate milk". So being the sweet guy that he is, he brought this lucky leprechaun one home.
Enjoy your day, I am.

I loved this image the moment I saw it. It was very easy to colour up because it had a lot of shading in the inked image. Used my Spellbinder Dies to cut out the leaves & matting. Sentiment is a digital freebie. Flowers & ribbon are from my stash. Dp is My Mind's Eye.

Thinking Of You

Good Morning. My card for today is for the challenge at Fetch a Sketch. I found this a tough one. I feel like I should add something to my card but I'm at a loss as to what that something should be. I tried to give this card a Quilt Look by adding the buttons & lots of distessing. Sentiment is a rubber stamp.

A Second Post - CDACPC13

Sorry for this second post but the first round for the Progressive Challenge at CDAC ends tomorrow. The more cards you enter (using the supplied digital images) the more chance you have of winning the Grand Prize of 100 Digital Images. I managed to get another 2 cards done this morning so I wanted to get them in.
The first is "It's Your Day". The image was generously given by Pattie's Creations. My DP's are by MME. Added a bit of real stitching & a twine bow with a button center. Sentiment is a rubber stamp. I think this card will go to our Principal, who is celebrating a birthday on Friday.

My second card for the challenge is called "Make A Wish". This image was supplied by Back To Paper.  I coloured this little cutie with Copics & cut her out using a Spellbinder die. I used a Martha Stewart edge punch on the center strip. A rubber stamp sentiment, bow & flower to finish it off.

Busy making Shamrock Cupcakes for 3 Little Leprechauns, who will be visiting tomorrow for a little St. Patrick's Day Party, so I don't think I'll have time to finish anymore cards for the challenge. Oh well, that's the way it goes.
hugs,
Nancy

Bucket of Blessings

Today's card is for the Sketch Challenge at Meljen's Designs. I was one of the winners for Meljen's  challenge last week & won 2 of Melissa's wonderful images! YEAH!.
For this card I used one of her cute little images & lots of yellow because the weather has been so nice here it has just put me in a cheery mood & yellow is cheery. The Dp's are from my scrap box, as are all the embellishments. Sentiment is computer generated.
Have a wonderful Wednesday,

Spring Cleaning

Happy Tuesday to you all. My card for today features this fun image by Mo Manning. I just love her, maybe because I'm a school custodian, I don't know, but she just cracks me up. (I definitely do not enjoy my work as much as this Dust Fairy seems to, lol). At Mo's the challenge is to "Do Something New", so I decided to use only 2 pieces of cardstock to complete my project. I used several embossing folders on the pieces & distress inked a lot. The sketch I used is for a different challenge over at Stamptacular Sundays. The brads were in my stash. The flowers were given to me by a lovely friend from church. Thanks Lynn.  Other than that I just added a bit of bling to her slip & dust particles.
Hope you're having a great day. I am , it's 60 degrees & sunny, Hello Spring!

Top of the morning to you. In honour of St. Patrick's Day, over at Kaboodle Doodles, this week we want to see some "Green". You could win 4 images from Meljen's Designs. Now that's what I call "A Pot of Gold at the End of the Rainbow"! Hope you'll join in on the fun.
For my card I used this cute little image of a pot of shamrocks. My papers are all from Michael's. The sentiment is a digital freebie.
Hope you have a fantastic day.

Spring Is Coming

Well that's what the weather man is predicting for us here in SW Ontario. We've had such a mild winter that we can't complain, but I am looking forward to the warmer temperatures that Spring brings.
My card for today is the first I've made for the progressive challenge at CDAC. The image is by Glitterbabe.  I know my colours aren't Spring colours but I  had coloured up these flowers placed them on my desk mat (which has a black edging) & they just seemed to pop on the dark colour. So I chose black for the background. I embossed it to give it a bit of life. The stems & leaves are paper pieced. Added button centers, abright orange bow & a little tag and Voila!

Off to do some shopping.

Trash To Treasure

Today I have a card to share in which one of the pieces was made from this aluminium can. I like using these tall cans because it gives you a bigger surface to work with. First you clean & dry the pop can. Then using a very strong pair of sissors or tin snips you cut off the top, down the side & cut off the bottom of the can. Be VERY CAREFUL because the edges are VERY SHARP. You will then have a retangular surface to cut from. I used a Spellbinder Nestie die on mine. I then wiped the entire piece with ink, covered it with embossing powder, tap off the excess & then heat embossed it.  To attach it to my card I punched holes & used brads. (I haven't found a tape that will cause the aluminium to adhere.). My image is a pre-coloured vintage that I found on line. I also used Spellbinder dies to cut out the flourishes & leaves. The layered flower with brad center & twine are all from my stash. The DP's are by Simple Stories. Well, I guess that's it. So would you like to see my finished card? Here we go...

Just look at these sweet faces...I think these little girls feel so blessed to have recieved a puppy.
Hope you're feeling blessed too.

Nancy

Another Pop Up Card

Whenever I try a new project I usually do a couple of them right away just so I don't forget how to do it. So here I am again with another Pop Up card. My image this time is from Saturated Canary. This card style has so much potential, my mind is just whirlling with different ways to do it up. I'm pretty sure you could even attach a gift card holder to the pull out tag. Probably try that next time.
Well that's it for today. Hope your day is going well. Thanks so much for stopping by & for all your sweet comments.

Poppies

Glad you could stop by today. Hope all is well & you are enjoying your day.
My card today features some Poppies. This image was fun & easy to colour because the image itself had a lot of shading. My papers are by My Mind's Eye. I added some pretty ribbon & gems. I cut a mat for the image using a Spellbinder die. That's it - easy, & I think it turned out pretty nice.

Pop Up Card

I love cards that are a little different, so when I saw a "Pop UP"  card on Cheryl Rowley's blog ( http://cheryllrowley.blogspot.com/2012/03/magnolia-licious-dt-monthly-challenge.html), I knew I just had to try one. The wonderful  tutorial is at Splitcoast Stampers. This card is actually a lot easier than it looks. My Dp is by Michael's. The window frame was cut using the Grand Maison Window die by Poppystamps & the branches I cut out using a Spellbinder die. The image is a Magnolia stamp tht I have had for quite some time. The tree stamp & gathered ribbon are from our local & my favourite scrapbooking store"The Paper Pickle". Scripture sentiment is by Stampin'up. I found the rhinestone swirls in my stash of stuff. Here are a couple more photos to give you an ideaof how the card looks.

Hello

Hope you enjoyed your weekend & looking forward to a new week. Today's card is my take on the "Spring is Coming, show us some flowers" challenge over at Kaboodle Doodle. This week's sponser is The Stamping Boutique. I hope you'll join in & share your creations with us...maybe you will be this week's winner! I choose this lovely watering can bouquet which so reminds me of my flower gardens. I used Copics to colour the image. My Dp's are by My Mind's Eye. The fabric flower & brad are from my stash.

Tea Time

I come from a family of  "Sweet-toothed Teetotallers" so it's no wonder why I love this cute image by Mo Manning. I have used this image so many times I've quit counting. It's perfect for lots & lots occasions.  Copics were used to colour the image & I inked all the edges with Tim Holtz's distress ink. I also machine sewed the edges. Assorted Spellbinder dies were used to cut the flourishes, leaves & scalloped oval. The flowers were a pale blue so I dabbed turquoise ink on them to make them match the image background. All papers are by My Mind's Eye. Sentiment was a freebie I just got at Free Digitals ( check the my sidebar for their site).

Smile

Well it's Friday so I hope you are "Smiling", I know I am, the weekend is here!

My card for today is for a couple of challenges. First over at Meljen's Designs (http://meljensdesignsdt.blogspot.com/#en)  they would like us to use "Orange" this week & guess what I just happened to have a lot of orange papers on hand, so this card came together very quickly. The cute image is by Melissa Jenkins, (her images are just so sweet & easy to colour). The Dp's are by Michael's & Scenic Route. The chip board corner was part of some wonderful Blog Candy that I won at bit ago. Not sure who made the rubber stamp sentiment ( I bought it at a $ Store). All edges have been inked using an orange colour by Rubber Stampede. Added a couple of eyelets & some ribbon to finish it off. The inside of the card reads:

" ...it's your birthday!
Sending showers of blessings your way."

So that will qualify it for the "Birthday Wishes" challenge over at One Crazy Stamper (http://onecrazystampercom.blogspot.com/)

Off to have some lunch.
Hope you have a great weekend spending time with those you love & doing what you enjoy.
hugs,
Nancy
