Thank Goodness It's Friday!

It's been such a busy week that I can't believe it's Friday already but I am sooo glad that it is!
Today I have a little gift tag that I made using one of the New Release images by Melissa over at Meljen's Designs. I do hope you will take a minute to check them out:  http://meljensdesignsdt.blogspot.ca/
This little guy is called "Big Sweater Kid". I coloured him up with my Copic Markers, fussy cut him out and attached him to a Spellbinder die tag with some foam squares. The sentiment is a free hand version which I also cut out with a Spellbinder Die. I used a big eyelet at the top, with a few strands of  Baker's Twine looped through it. The DP is MME. I plan to attach a couple of these  to a few fancy packs of hot chocolate mix ( you know the kind with the extra mini marshmallows, chocolate chips or maybe a mini Rolo or Peppermint patty), for my grandkids for Valentine's Day. They'll love it!
Well, thanks for stopping by and I hope I've left you with a little inspiration.
Blessings on your day.
hugs,
Nancy

Be Square Snowman

Well, when you think of a snowman the last thing you probably think of is something square but this sweet image, "Cupcake Snowman", by Melissa at Meljen's Designs, seemed the perfect choice to me for this week's Meljen's Challenge - "Be Square". (Yep, it's that easy; we just want to see squares on your project).
Now back to the snowman, isn't he just the cutest thing!
I coloured him with my Copic Markers, adding gold glitter paint pen to the swirls. Lots of faux stitching and just a few gems to finish this card up.
I hope you will take a trip over to the Meljen's Blog http://meljensdesignsdt.blogspot.ca/ and join in on this challenge...we love seeing your work.
Blessings on your day.
hugs,
Nancy

Altered Journal

Good morning! I'm so glad you took a few minutes out of your busy day to stop by and check out my blog. Today I have an altered journal ( the original was from Michael's ) to share with you. It features one of the New Release Images by Melissa over at Meljen's Designs. This one is called Box Of Chocolates and you can see it and all the other new release images over at the Meljen Blog right here http://meljensdesignsdt.blogspot.ca/
I used Copics to colour the image and added some gold glitter pen as well. I cut it out with a Spellbinder die. I replaced the orginial closure with layered buttons. Lots of pretty ribbon was added to the binding rings. I think this will be a Valentine gift for my granddaughter Alanna.
Enjoy your day.
hugs,
Nancy

It's Time For A New Challenge!

Hi there, hope your day is going well, so well that you feel up to a new challenge! Over at Meljen's Designs http://meljensdesignsdt.blogspot.ca/ we would love to invite you to join in on our Colour Challenge - Frosted Flora.
It's a very pretty combination of shades of teals & violets. For my card I used Melissa's sweet "pre-coloured image "Chubby Snow Bird". You can find it & lots & lots of others at the MD store right here: http://meljensdesigns.com/  . My DP's are a combo from MME ( 12 days of Christmas & Sweater Weather) & Michael's Recollection (Bright Christmas). The big brad is by Basic Grey ( a great buy from Winners). The sentiment is by Stampin' Up. I used a Tim Holtz's die to cut the fancy edging and distressed all the edges with ink. I finished this card up with a bit of ribbon, an acryllic snowflake, a few shiny gems, some glittery glue and lots of faux stitching (done with a violet, ultra fine tipped Sharpie Marker).
So there you have it! Now I hope you'll try your hand at it. I'll be checking out the Meljen's Challenge Blog later - hopefully I'll see your beautiful creation there!
hugs,
Nancy

Happy New Year

I know I'm a little late in wishing you all a Happy New Year but I decided to wait until I could use this sweet New Release image by Melissa from Meljen's Designs. Isn't he just too cute - perfect not only as a New Year Baby but to announce the birth of any little one, anytime of the year! You can find him and all the New Releases right here: http://meljensdesignsdt.blogspot.ca/  and while you're there check out the great projects from the rest of the Meljen Team; they are a wonderfully talented group of ladies!
For my card I used a real mix of the "Old & New". The oldies (but goodies) are the recycled ribbon, Spellbinder Scalloped Circle die, Sizzix Star die, antique button and Tim Holtz's distress ink. The new items, (yes, Santa was very, very good to me), are the DP by MME (Sweater Weather), Spellbinder Circle Heart Die, and sentiment using a Dymo Caption Marker. Santa also gave me a New Copic Case...it holds all 300 plus markers! I guess that means he's giving me permission to add to my Copic Collection (he,he,he). Thanks Santa...I love you!
Well, that it for me. Hope you have one terrific day!
hugs,
Nancy

New Year's Prayer

I recieved this lovely prayer from
Day Spring cards http://bumblebee.dayspring.com/campaign/20130101/index.html today and wanted to share it with you.
Lord,
As a new year begins, we come to You and ask for Your blessing.
We pray that you would give us joy to fill our days, peace to fill our hearts, and love to fill our lives.
Thank You for the plans You have for us in this new year.
We wait in anticipation to see all You will do!
Thanking God for you and praying your new year is blessed in every way.
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11
hugs,
Nancy
