Another idea for a quick card

Another easy way to make up a  card that you need in a hurry is to use a "pre-coloured" image. That's exactly what I did for this card.

I subscribe to a site called Free Digital Images and every day they send me an email with a list of sites offering free images/ sentiments/ tutorials, etc.  I simply go through the list and pick the ones I want to save. That's where I got this one. I thought it would come in handy for a more masculine type of card and the fact that it was pre coloured was an added bonus! The sentiment is a stamp from Stampin' Up. A simple card sketch helped to bring this card together.
Hope you will take a few minutes to check out the Free Digital Image Site.

Nancy

Another Quick and Easy Card

Another quick card using some bright coloured DPs and the same stamped sentiment as my card from the other day. Again I added some doodling around the squares. Simple little die cut flowers with brad centers helped to finish this card up.
Until next time.

Valentine for a friend

Valentine's Day isn't just a day for couples it is also a nice time to tell a friend just how much you appreciate them; hence this card!

No image this time just lots of pretty DPs by MME and a fun sketch by Mojo Monday. The sentiment is a rubber stamp by Stampin' Up. Added a bit of doodling around the outer edge and some line work around the different DPs. That's it! Quick and easy!
Wishing you a blessed day and thanks for stopping by.

Snowflakes are Winter's Butterflies....

Hope your week is off to a great start. Mine is 'cuz we had a "No School Snow Day"! and boy did we ever get a lot of the fluffy white stuff! Here is a picture of my back yard...

I think we got about 30 centimeters! That's the most we've gotten, at one time, in quite a little while.
I thought this card would be appropriate considering our weather.

The image is a digital that I won a while back, {sorry I don't know who the talented artist is}, which I coloured with Copics. I fussy cut her out and mounted her onto a die cut circle. The sentiment is computer generated and mounted on another circle die cut.. Lots of ink distressing. The stars and snowflakes are wooden, ink and heat embossed. Lots of glitter glue on the snow dots, flakes and stars.

Thanks for stopping by.
hugs,
Nancy

I'll "Owl"ways Love You!

With Valentine's Day right around the corner I thought I'd share a card I made for one of my grandkids. I love this cute image, but sorry to say I don't know who the talented Artist is! I have been trying to go through all of the digital images I have and sort them into files according to Artists; some are obvious but others, like this one, I'm not sure of. Maybe you could help me out...if you know the Artist please let me know.

I used Tim Holtz's Distressed Markers to colour with.  Some pretty ribbon, die cuts, folder embossing, buttons, inked layered wooden hearts, pearls and stitching all work together to finish this card up!
Until next time,
hugs,
Nancy

***The Nativity

Hope your Sunday is wonderful! I enjoyed the morning helping out in "Childcare" at church. It is always so much fun to hang out with the babies and toddlers. I admit that they can easily tire this grandma out but they never fail to make me smile!
Anyway, since faith is so very important to me, this card was an absolute delight to make. I have had this rubber stamp for some time now,
(won it in a card challenge), but just hadn't had the opportunity  to use it until now.

After inking the image I heat embossed it with copper embossing powder. I love how this made a sort of ridge around each section that I then coloured with my Copics. Lots and lots of die cuts, gemstones, and faux snow on this easel card. Had fun trying out this new "burlap paper" I bought at Michael's. Sentiment is also another rubber stamp, from a set that I won in a different card challenge!{As you can see I love challenges, I totally recommend entering them!}.
Here are a couple of close up shots...

Have a blessed day!

Nancy

Time for a change!

I came across another cute image I had coloured up earlier; this time it is by Doodle Garden!
I think I got my first Doodle Garden image as a freebie and fell in love! Then I was blessed to have a card win in a challenge and guess what the prize was; Doodle Garden images! This was one that I picked...

The DPs are by MME. I used an embossing folder on the blue envelope. The rest is pretty simple. No sentiment yet - I figured this card could work for a multitude of occasions, so I'll wait until the need arises, {though I am pretty sure a 1 word sentiment just below the button/bow will be the where I put it}.
Hope you have a wonderful day!
hugs,
Nancy

Showered In Blessings...

As you can see I love colouring up Tiddly Ink images! They are so adorable...I just can't resist them! Here is my latest...

I decided to set her behind a framed, see through window, (cut from plastic packaging), and add some falling leaves to make a "Shaker Card". Lots of die cuts including the butterflies, flowers, frame and sentiment matting. A bit of green ribbon and lace as well. Though it doesn't show up real well there is glitter on both the butterflies and flowers. Several pearls, {flower centers}, edge doodling and a computer generated sentiment finish this card up.
Until next time,
hugs,
Nancy

Baked with Love

Good Monday morning to you. Hope you had a great weekend! We had a little family get together to celebrate my husband's and his dad's birthdays! Lots of fun! I also got my Christmas tree down and put away...now the house looks so dull and empty! I also got to have a bit of crafting time and made up this card...

Yep!, another cute Tiddly Inks image! Like the previous ones I have had her coloured up for a bit just sitting on my desk waiting to be made into a project. I used MME papers and added these cute button embellishments, tied with a twine bow. Lots of faux stitching, {I think it's becoming a "trade mark" for me! lol}.
Thanks for stopping by. Wishing a blessed day.
hugs,
Nancy

***Another Tiddly Ink's Image...

Hope your weekend is off to a good start. I am looking forward to a good one! Actually every weekend, when I don't have to work is a good one, lol!
Today I have card featuring another one of those cute Tiddly Ink images that I have had coloured up for some time. I think these images are simply adorable! I love just colouring them!
I used Copics again and this time I used blue and green papers by Authentique. Here it is...

As you can see I used the Martha Stewart snowflake punch again, but this time I added some flourishes made from a die by Sweet Cuts. { I won several of these dies in a card competition and absolutely love them. They are the perfect size for card making and cut wonderfully in my Big Shot}.
Again I added lots of glitter, faux snow, stitching and doodling. No sentiment yet as I am not sure if I will be using this as a "Birthday" or "Thinking of You" card.
Well, that's it for now.
Blessings and hugs,
Nancy

*** An Valentine's Day Easel Card

Every time I make an easel card I think, why don't I make these more often - I simply love them! It's not like they are hard; a bit more paper and a little more time consuming but the end result is so worth it!
Anyway, I have had this cute Tiddly Ink image coloured up for a while now but hadn't gotten around to making her into a card. Since I had coloured her in pink I decided to make her into a Valentine;s Day card using these pretty MME papers i had. The single snowflake was made using a Martha Stewart punch. The snowflake border was made from a Tim Holtz's die. Lots of glitter and a bit of faux snow on this card. I added a trim of pink rick rack, a couple of tiny metal hearts, buttons tied with pink twine, (snowflake centers), and faux stitching/doodling. I simply typed up the sentiment using a fun font on my computer.
Here are a few close up pictures:

A Quiet Birthday...

Well, last Friday was my husband's birthday and I have to say it was very quiet. With all the snow we had he spend his day shoveling at school or resting in between. I wasn't feeling all that great either so we decided to postpone the celebrating to a later date. But, I did manage to get his card finished on time and here it is. The papers are by MME "cosy collection". The rubber stamp is one I have had for ages. After stamping, I cut it out with a Spellbinder's die. A simple button tied with twine and some faux stitching helped to bring it all together.
(We were able to celebrate Sunday afternoon; with lunch and chocolate cheesecake with our family, so he didn't have to wait too long!)
Thanks for stopping by.
hugs,
Nancy

Birthday Wishes with a Ppinky Doll image

Well here is my first card for 2015 and for sure it had to be a birthday card! I never have enough of them on hand! This one features a cute Ppinky doll image that I coloured up with Distress Markers. I love these images! The papers are an assortment from MME and Authentique. Lots of faux stitching, several tiny gem stones and a rubber stamped sentiment all help to pull this card together.
I hope you are having a lovely day. Here in SW Ontario we are under an extreme cold warning and expecting a winter storm later this evening. Sounds pretty promising for a "Snow Day" off of school for tomorrow and this little janitor would really enjoy that! lol
Until next time,
hugs,
Nancy

My first post for 2015!

Had to wait until after the holidays to share with you the Christmas gift I made for  my eldest daughter... a fun collage of her family using all Mo Manning digital images! This was so much fun to do even though it was a bit of a challenge to get the merging technique down. I used a free program called Paint.Net to do the merging. The images are coloured with Copic Markers. My daughter and her husband just finished putting up a "pallet wall" in their family room. I figured they would be putting this picture in that room so I decided to make a frame for the picture using the wood from an old pallet as well.
I am really pleased with how this turned out and will definitely be trying a project like this in the future.

Thanks for stopping by.
hugs,
Nancy
