On Your Mark...

 

Hope your day is off to a great start and maintains a nice steady pace, just like this sweet Meljen's Design image called Speedy Hare.  He is the focus of my card for this week's challenge "Recycle It - use a recycled item on your card." I used recycled twine ( I wanted a purple shoe lace but didn't want to cut mine up! Yep, my runners are purple, just like his, but with bright orange instead of lime green! Hey, I have to wear a uniform so I make a "statement" with my shoes!)

I had so much fun colouring him up. My DPs are MME {Make a Wish & Lime Twist}. As a School Janitor I am always finding interesting little things - garbage to most but not a card maker - thus the metal star & the perfect piece of green twine. Added a few big buttons, some faux stitching and a computer generated sentiment to finish this card up.

Just a quick note

I found this awesome site and just had to share it with you. Everyday they have  a new list of the sites offering papercraft challenges going on out there. They also list the winners of previous challenges, on a daily basis.  Maybe I'm the last to know about this site {giggle, giggle, a very likely thought! }, but I just thought I'd share it with you anyway...just incase there is someone like me that's not up on these things. Anyway the site is Feline Playful and you can check it out here.

You make Rainy Days Sunny!

Good Monday morning to you all. Hope you had a wonderful weekend. My 2 daughters and granddaughter took me to "Scrapfest" on Saturday. It was a wonderful day! I really love those girls of mine {all three of them!}.
Yesterday I wanted to colour up this Saturdated Canary image and use som of the new things I had purchased at Scrapfest. The Dps are by Echo Park {6x6}. I alos used some pretty polka dot washi tape across the center of the card.I was able to purchase a couple of Memory Box dies so I used this pretty floral border one. I coloured several copies of the image with Copic markers, so that I could cut out different parts and raise them to give the image more dimension. {Not too sure this photo shows it that well}. I added glitter to her hair, slip, around her boots and to the center of the flowers. I used a Spellbinder die to cut out the main image; masked her and used distress ink to shade the background; inking the edges a bit darker than the rest. I punched the computer generated sentiment out with a circle punch. Added a few gems to opposite corners. The sketch and theme are for the challenge at Little Claire's.

Spring! And Happy Birthday!

Hi there. First off I want to say a big "HAPPY 3rd BIRTHDAY to Meljen's Designs. Congratulations Melissa, your blog is beautiful, your images are adorable and you are one of the nicest people I have ever known. Sending lots of birthday hugs your way.
Today is my day to share with you my DT project over at Meljen's Designs and since MD is celebrating it's 3rd Birthday I decided to showcase a favourite MD image of mine, "Garden Bun Bun Fairy". You can find her in the shop right here. This is one of the first cards I ever made using a Meljen's Design image; I think I won her in a card challenge...see why it pays to play in those challenges, giggle! It's easy to see why I've fallen in love with Melissa's images - they are all so darn cute!

Hello Friday!

Good morning! Aren't you glad it's Friday...I sure am! Even though it was a short work week it's been crazy busy. I am so thankful for a weekend off.
And since it is Friday that means it's New Release Day over at Meljen's Designs and once again Melissa has come up with some really cute images. I don't know how she does it but she never ceases to amaze me with her adorable images. For my triple fold, tear drop card I decided to use the "Little Round Flowers" image. Check it out right here, along with all the other new images.

I saw the tutorial for this card here and just knew I had to give it a try. The Dp's are a gift from my darling daughter. I inked all the edges to give it an aged look. I coloured the image with Copic markers and then cut it out and adhered it with 2 layers of foam squares to give it lots of dimension. A simple sheer bow tucked in tight by the image and a haphazard outline along all the edges with a brown, ultra fine tipped Sharpie marker to finish things off. Here is the card closed:

Happy 3rd Birthday Meljen"s!!!!!

 

Whoo, Whoo!!! How time flies when you are having fun ~ and at Meljen's Designs we are always having fun, but especially this month because we are celebrating MD's 3rd Birthday. So, to start things off  our challenge this week is for you  to create anything you would like only you must use a Meljen's image. Don't have any you say....well, don't fret, Melissa has some great freebies that you can use right here .

For my tri-fold card I used "Birthday Cake Mouse" {how nice that the cake happens to have 3 candles on it}. I coloured the image with Copics & glittery gold paint pen. The card ties shut with a simple ribbon closure. I attached the sentiment with foam squares. The Dp was a piece of leftover in my stash box.

A Little Side Project

               Good Wednesday morning to you all. Today I just want to share with you the
"So Very, Very {P}interesting" project the girls & I did over the weekend. This was our second project and what fun it was! A Spoon Bracelet! Here is 1 of the 4 bracelets I made.
