Happy Spring!

Happy first day of Spring to you all! I've been looking forward to this day for most of the Winter! Now I just need those temperatures to come a bit and awaken all those pretty Spring flowers in my gardens.
Today is also the start of a new challenge over at Meljen's Designs. This week we would like to see cards that are "girly" for our "Girls just wanna have Fun!" challenge. Here's what I came up with...

I went with a more "Victorian" look. I used Meljen's image Rose Bloom and you can find it right here. I printed it out 3 times; once on green card stock, and twice on red card stock. Then I fussy cut out all 3. The entire flower and leaves from the green one and the whole flower head from one red, and  just the ruffly part of the flower from the second red. Then I added some shading with Copics markers and adhered the layers with foam dots to add even more dimension. I used a couple of Spellbinder dies to cut out the flower matting and the fancy border. I attached a double layer of ribbon to the corner and put 6 red pearls on top of it. A simple white feather, a couple of inked and heat embossed wooden hearts and a sentiment complete this Mother's Day card.
I want to thank you for stopping by today and hope that you will skip on over to the Meljen's Challenge blog to check out what the rest of the team came up with and then to enter your own take on this theme.
Have a truly blessed day.
hugs,
Nancy
